Liz, whoever broke that taillight was a jerk! Sorry you had to take such a steep hit.

As directed by Liz, I am having a sunny Saturday. Temps in the 60s, which is a bit above average for this time of year. I'll take it. Slow morning, but I did manage to get out the door and on the way to Planet Fitness before noon. DH took advantage of the sunny weather to go bike riding. I am so enjoying this opportunity to work out regularly.

Last night for fun, I read my journal from Brazil. I did 2 journals, a daily one where I just noted more objectively what I did, and for awhile what I ate because everything was so new and I wanted to remember, and another about my FEELINGS and impressions. As I'm reading, I'm thinking, oh child, you are going to learn so much, and you'll get out of your own way eventually. Also, the extent of my spelling errors is crazy. Looking at it through the eyes of a teacher with reading training is interesting. Standardized testing tells me my reading comprehension is very high, but phonics is such a struggle.

I stopped at the grocery store to buy ingredients to make chili, which is next on my list of things to do. Also, do some reading, and go to a concert. It's a nice day.

How fun to read journals from your youth. I've never kept a journal.

Ben did daily journaling to God. It was mostly a *****fest (sometimes about marriage, family and the stress of raising kids), so I decided after he died, they were not meant for anyone else to read and I deleted the ones on the computer and tossed the ones that were hand written.

I've journaled off and on, but not with any consistency. The few I did when the kids were little are so fun and I wish I'd done more. I've already tossed some teenage ones because jeez, no one needs to know their Mom was an awkward kook. They already have physical proof of that living with me, they don't need to read it too.

One impressive self improvement plan from when I was 13:

Eat more fruit

floss every day

Stop saying stupid things

Still a good plan!

What a wonderful opportunity to step back into your younger shoes! Definitely tossing the awkward ones is in order, but the others could be a great gift for your kids eventually.

Sorry about the tail light Liz. I agree that the person doing the damage was a jerk not to leave a note.

123.4 today. Dang sal****er taffy! Lol!

DSD had a little breakfast party at our house today for DH with relatives from his first wife's family. I knew one was coming over to visit and was surprised when it ended up being 3 extra!

Dinner out with a lot of the same gang tonight.

Must be vaccination season. DH got 2 yesterday, Luz got 3 and I just got 3 a few minutes ago. Used my waiting time to get caught up with you all!

Peps, I somehow missed the walking terroir story, will have to back and see what I missed. Glad you are back home to your pack, including DH.

Nice to see you posting again CC. Missed hearing about your life and about Kirby's antics!

Nice that DSD feels comfortable inviting her other family members. We have both been lucky to be able to blend our families.
