Thank you to all veterans who have kept our country safe at the expense of their families at times and at their own risk. They are the true patriots.

Good luck on the last Pod packing Paula (hmmm - a little alliteration there). Do you have to drive 2 cars down or can DH, you and the dogs go in one? And will you stop for a night or 2 on the way? Exciting yet exhausting days ahead (and behind) for you!

41 degrees this morning!!!! I woke up frozen but luckily the new mattress allows for snuggling against DH (the former one had a hump in the middle). I was like the meat in a sandwich up against DH on one side and Justice up against me on the other. The heat is on and I have my electric throw over Justice and me. The subsequent days this week should be 10 degrees warmer each morning. The wind is going to make it feel even colder today but it will also subside. Hopefully by my golf day on Thursday it will be warm enough. We have friends leaving for a 5 night cruise to the Bahamas today. Similar weather though about 10 degrees warmer there. Hopefully after a cool start they get enough sun.

So I bought a crock-pot yesterday. I had 2 of them at my house up north which is why I couldn't remember if I had one here. DS took one and I donated the other. Should have sent one south I guess. I also got the stuff to make a pot roast (thanks Diane!). Good day for it.

Not much going on today though the house really needs a thorough house cleaning so I guess that should be on the agenda. I will wear my down jacket to walk Justice LOL. Have a vibrant Veterans Day!

I'm still in productive mode, yay! Yesterday I made several phone calls (insurance, scorpion people to complain they haven't come back to check on my product like I pay them to, roof estimators for the decking), went to MVD/DMV to get my title changed (a bargain at $4), got salt for the water softener and loaded in into the holder (man, those bags are heavy - how did we carry that much extra weight??), and vacuumed and washed half the floors.

Today I think I'm headed to Costco. ****ep saying that, but not going). I figure enough before Thanksgiving to not get in that mad rush and going between Thanksgiving and Christmas is just madness. I might pick up the meat for Christmas dinner as they get prime beef this time of year.

Cold weather headed here starting the end of next week. I see several mid-40s in the forecast for highs and rain! Wearing shorts today to get the last of that in...

You are energetic! Getting a lot a accomplished feels good doesn't it? But so does relaxing in the sun or reading a book LOL.

These spurts of energy seem like they only come once or twice a year for me, so best to get on it when it's here!

202.8 yesterday, 203.4 today.... a slight overall trend downward for the last 4 weeks.

My feet are back on terra firma after an extremely successful dog show weekend. Grizz's win was a heck of a big deal. People come out for that prize money! We beat a few heavy hitters to go Best Puppy in Show. I found out later that Grizz's win was a unanimous decision by all three judges. Apparently that is the first time that has happened at this particular show. Whoo hooo for Grizz! I am a very proud puppy papa! Then, of course, Buster's subsequent wins were the cherry on the parfait of the days! A reserve owner handled best in show followed the next day by an owner handled BEST in show!!!! Dog show weekends don't really get much better than that!

Today I have a dental cleaning at 11 am. I will follow that with a visit to see my dad. I have to get a few errands done, too. (CC, I went to Costco yesterday. I was surprised by how busy it was. Then I remembered that schools here were out for the Veterans' Day holiday. The districts all had teacher inservice days allowing families a 4 day weekend.)

One of my dog show friends told me that I need to wear jackets and suits that fit. Apparently, some of the jackets that in my mind are only slightly too large, are actually tent like in appearance. LOL! My wine colored suit is one of them. Damn it! I'm going to see about getting that one altered. But, I'm worried that the alterations will cost more than the suit did! I will donate the "offending" sport coats to Good Will today. That'll make Ron happy. He complains I don't get rid of my old clothes as I should.

I'm feeling pretty good about workouts, overall appearance, etc... As I think I mentioned, I did talk with the PS last week when I got my Daxxify injection about adding a laser treatment to my under eye area. I got the revised estimate to include the additional work. I was surprised by the cost of the laser treatment - $2K! But it is what it is! I'm going to be under, so that's the time to do it. I have decided that the following year I will do the skin removal. Even as slowly as I'm losing weight now, the skin just ain't snapping back! No surprise at my age.

Winter (well, the California version) is starting. I was hoping to get in a few more days of shorts, but I think that yesterday was the last day. It's pretty cool and overcast this morning.

Funny that some of your clothes look like tents but you don't see it. DH is the same. Most of his golf shirts and Tommy Bahama type shirts look like big bags on him. But when he sees a picture of himself he can!

Congratulations on the fantastic weekend! The wine colored suit might cost more to alter than it did to buy it, but I would consider what would it cost to actually replace it? It's such a cool suit : )

Okay, I was going to tell you that it looked too big in your latest FB picture, but I know how much you love it, so I didn't say anything! I wonder if it can be altered or is that too extensive for a men's coat?
