116.8
The sisters leave today at around 1. I am playing golf this morning so if they don't get up until after 8:45 I won't see them before that. This afternoon will involve sheet and towel washing. And leftovers for dinner.
We leave in 5 days for Massachusetts. Feeling cold every time I look at the weather forecast there.
Justice had several vaccinations yesterday and he is really feeling poorly. That happened last year as well. When he was younger it didn't seem to affect him but for the last 3 years each time has been worse. He walks like he is all achy and feels a bit warm. Then he shakes for a long time after he moves - takes him about 15 minutes before he can relax and sleep. Last year it lasted almost 2 days. I hope he recovers faster this time. Don't know if he will be up for a Justice walk.
Have a thriving Thursday!

Liz, isn't Justice an old dog now? There really is no medical reason to vaccinate him except maybe for bordetella and leptosporosis. And honestly, if he has vaccine reactions, both of those are batcterial diseases and can be treated with antibiotics. Most boarding facilities require the bordetella vaccine to take a dog, though. My Dottie is medically excused from vaccines because she has immune mediated poly arthritis and giving her anything that triggers an immune response is contra indicative for her condition.
In general, I stop vaccinating when a dog is 7 years old. There are exceptions, but that's kind of how I roll. You can always check titers on Justice, too, rather than just vaccinating pell mell. I am by no means an anti vaxer, but I've done my research on this one because of my long time involvement in dogs and dog sports.
Very interesting! Yes, Justice is almost 11. I know he has to have Bordetella and Rabies for the times when I board him so I will check to see if he needs anything else.

It's 17 degrees here, so the idea of pool aerobics and golf and walks seems like a dream. I hope it is not too bitterly cold Liz when you are back up north. It's good you will see both your DS and DD on Christmas, but it does sound like you might be looking to rearrange your holidays a bit in the future. Do you see DH's children?
Knowing that I'm getting out of this cold in the next month is making it easier to deal with. And also being able to opt out of going outside entirely if it's too cold helps my attitude. For example, the windchill is predicted to be -27 on Saturday. I was going to go to my parent's house, but I rescheduled for Wednesday.
I am so relieved, I need no follow up dental care after my visit. I was so nervous that there was going to be some big ole something AND to add to the good vibes, my dentist was actually in the clinic today and that was who I saw. He still does some limited coverage. When I heard his voice in the other exam room, I felt so much more relaxed. I made my appointment for June, and I will try to keep a regular schedule of cleanings in my retirement.
Besides the dental cleaning appointment which loomed so LARGE in my head, leaving space for nothing else, there is nothing definitive on today's schedule. I need to run to the store for a few things and I will bake some more cookies. I made 2 kinds yesterday, and I'm trying to fit them in the freezer. Not sure why there is already so much stuff when there is only 2 of us living here. Frist world problems. : )
Yes, we have DH's Christmas with his family the Saturday before Christmas- that is how they have always done it. It means there is up to a week between the 2 celebrations. Since we arrive a few days ahead, then leave a few days after it is adding up to 13 days in the cold.

120.4, down another smidge.
It is mid 70's today but cloudy and feels chilly, not that I'm complaining! Way better than WI weather. They have been hit with a lot of snow and cold already this year.
DH is golfing for the first time since we move here today. He texted that the play is slow but he is having fun! Good for him! I did my Sales and Use tax for my photo biz and then closed it out! I would need a FL seller's license if I want to continue it here anyway!
I put together my vanity chair and hung up my coffee bar sign. I'll post pics of both on TT!
Sorry Justice isn't doing well after his vaccinations. Bella got really sick from flea and tick medicine so we don't do that or the heartworm for either of the dogs anymore. They still get rabies shots and bordetella.
DD, brrrrrr! Glad you have a getaway planned soon. Nice that you can choose to stay inside if you want.
Heartworm is really rampant in Florida with all the mosquitoes. Almost all the stray dogs who came into the shelter when Justice was there had it including him. He was picked up as a stray in Lee County.

Greetings all
It't a blue bird day here. No clouds and the sky is that intense shade of winter blue. Sort of a wedgewood blue but brighter. There are still beach hazard warnings yet no wind that I can detect. All is well.
Not much to do today other than gym and studio. I did the same stuff yesterday plus a hippie dippy grocery run. I seem to have a shopping addiction there - love all the little containers of peculiar deli salads and I buy whatever speaks to me. Not exactly weight friendly option as most are not high protein. I did manage to find another pot roast for Saturday as I have gallery duty again. I have lots of shifts this month due to helping out another member.
Poor Justice! It there a doggie aspirin or something he can take to ease his discomfort? I have always gotten all the shots recommended but for an older dog it makes sense to skip some. Maybe next time they can spread them out or something. Reminds me that Poppy is due for some kind of shot. We do heart worm preventative even though there is not much of it around here. Leptospirosis has been found in dead seals on the beach.
Congrats DD on surviving the dentist. Glad the old one is there and that you had no bad news. I have a crown for next month and a tranquilizer set aside. You are inspiring me to make cookies! Got a favorite? I was always a fan of spritz but no longer have a cookie press.
DH now has a new book for old people exercises to help with balance and such. Something else arrived in a box yesterday but I have no clue what it is.
Peps don't beat yourself up for being non productive. Computer games count as self care.
So I got my marching orders for Christmas dinner. Something fruity to go with ham. I have a chunky apple sauce recipe that is good and quick that will work. And I scored on some frozen chicken livers so I have those for pate.
CC I am not sure if that dog breath product deals with bacteria in gums or not. Just a breath thing that is supposed to reduce tooth scale though I am not sure it works for that. And rats on having to repaint a wall.
World's cutest baby has been reported to say "da da".

I did give Justice a carprofen this morning. I had some left over from his last tooth removal. He is much better now so it might partially be that or maybe the vaccine side effects are just wearing off. We took a nice walk this afternoon and he was absolutely normal including going down and up the stairs. Also he is barking at noises outside again LOL.
Chunky applesauce and chicken liver pate sound delicious!
