I am with Kurt on keeping some sparkly lights up. I have a tree on the lanai on a timer with them.

Florida weather is improving, along with those inflicted by unforgiving viruses. Good riddance to both below average tempertaures, and below average health. Speaking of, DH does feel a bit under the weather from his Covid shot. They never impact me at all, but maybe his reactions indicate better immune response. He has a public facing job, and has had Covid once, where I've been inflicted 3 times.
Brazilians are generally welcoming to US citizens, but the 50% tariffs leveled against them tests that. And now the invasion of Venezuela. I think Brazilians are not sad at all that Maduro is gone. They share a border, and have also dealt with an influx of people fleeing Venezuela and it's dictatorship. That the US is NOT talking about installing the people who actually won the election in 2024, is troubling. I was texting with my friends today and said, "should anyone ask, we're Canadians from Thunder Bay". They laughed and said not a bad idea. Because of our accent, and, I'd like to think politeness, we get mistaken for Canadians sometimes when we're overseas. We consider it a compliment.
Today was operation bye bye Christmas. All the bins are packed away again in the basement until next year, and boxes broken down and in the recycling bin. Feels good.
Packing begins in earnest, and hard decisions must be made. I can do this!
Wow! I didn't even think about the proximity of Brazil to Venezuela. I do hope things settle down soon. Good idea to be Canadian for a while.

119.2, edging in on Liz at least for today. I expect the direction will turn upward again tomorrow though.
Feeling just a bit better. Still needed a nap after a goods night sleep. Making dinner pooped me out! Tilapia, mushroom ravioli with Alfredo sauce and pear and Gorgonzola salad. Dove bar for dessert.
Hoping I feel well enough for church and if not for our anniversary dinner reservations tomorrow night. 6 years!
That dinner sounds delicious!

I am in Palm Springs. Yesterday was a phenomenal day for my dogs! I showed my two regulars - Buster and Grizz, but also one of my pups that was bred with some friends who do not have the skillz to show the dog, so I do it. It is a labor of love and friendship because getting an Airedale ready for the show ring is no small feat. It takes 3 months of coat work and about 90 minutes of prep each morning for the show ring. All three dogs got group placements. Dash (the young Airedale) won the Bred by Exhibitor Best in Terrier Show. Grizz won an owner handled group 3 and a $100. But it was Buster who made me the proudest! He was awarded a Terrier Group 4 at the Desert Empire Terrier show, beating many of the top, top terriers in the United States. Then today, of course, was the "back to reality" day where we did very little. Grizz earned a point towards his championship and Buster was awarded select dog (1st runner up to best of breed).
Glad the sickies are feeling better and that the weather is warming for the snow birds. The usual glorious Palm Springs weather is not to be had this weekend. BOOOOOO! At least it's in the low 60s and not raining.
The "capture" is unsurprising. Venezula's oil has been a target of interest for months and months.
Paula, even last summer I avoided telling people I was from the USA. There was already much anti-American sentiment in Europe.
Sort of exhausted so that's it from me today!
Congratulations on a great showing! I haven't looked at the news yesterday this morning. Wondering what the status in Venezuela will be today.
