119.2 - minus .2. I was just checking my weekly log - I am only .4 above where I was the day we left for the cruise.

Yesterday was also a one deer day viewing a young buck. We have our last walk this morning and we want to try and go a little earlier to hopefully ensure we have a last view of these sweet Key Deer. We have never stayed on this Key before so it has been a unique experience.

After that we did go to the beach and it was actually hot enough to get in the water. Appetizers at Happy Hour at our new favorite restaurant on the water for dinner. In bed watching a show by 8, and asleep around 9:30 so I think I mostly caught up on my missed sleep from the night before.

Today is a last afternoon in Key West followed by an early dinner meeting our friends on the way back. Will be getting back to a normal eating schedule this weekend.

Have a fabulous Friday!

140.6

Here again in a place I so enjoy.

It's been a truly hobbily-hoy beginning of the year so far, and I can't quite get into the flow of things...for example, although the trees are down (as of Wednesday) all the Christmas stuff is still sitting in the dining room waiting to be boxed and stored....jeeps, it's Valentine's Day tomorrow and the snowman china remains in the kitchen cabinets. What's with that?

SEKansas is in the midst of delightful faux spring weather which helps motivate me to be done with hibernation a bit...won't last and expecting some snowstorms into March which also won't last. Defiantly enjoying the hint of change.

Been very hit and miss keeping up with all the delightful activities happening here and will certainly check out previous posts.

Nice to see you Miss 150! Hibernation time definitely stifles ambition. That's why I like warm South Florida.

I have to agree with Liz. I am more myself when I can have outdoor time in comfort : ) Obviously I can go outside in Minnesota whenever I want, but I don't enjoy it in winter.

Good morning from Porto Alegre! We don't have any specific plans for today. It was nice to wake up in our quiet little apartment. Our room at the beach was across from the breakfast room, so there was a certain amount of noise every morning.

Carnival is starting up. Carnival is celebrated differently, depending upon the community. We've all seen the Rio celebrations. At our beach, they said it was calmer and more family oriented, at the beach town next door it is a street party, and pretty wild. Here in Porto Alegre most of the action is in the night clubs. We are not interested in going to night clubs, and are probably too old to anyhow, so I don't know if we will see any Carnival action. Currently researching if there will be any Samba parades.

Tomorrow we are having lunch with another one of my Brazilian "brothers" and his wife. Back in the days I was a student living with his parents, he was already married with 2 children, but played a big brother role just the same. Another of the brothers who took us to the wine country is returning from Europe today, and wants to do another trip to a different town in the Serra Gaucha, maybe next week. I'm afraid these next 10 days will go too fast! We leave on February 23, returning to the US on the 24th. We're enjoying what each day brings.

I love how close you are to your Brazilian family. Maybe when you leave you will be saying "See you next year!"?

Also love the apartment video tour on FB. Wonderful little place with everything you need (perhaps book it now for next year???).

We told my Aussie sister we would meet up with her in Australia next winter. She spends 4 - 6 months there every year. But yes, we do want to come back here, and maybe stay longer! Maybe an air BnB at the beach for a month or two? We don't know though if we can afford 2 big international trips, so maybe Brazil will have to wait until 2028? It's a good problem to have. But we are seriously considering that this will be our snowbird option for as long as we can travel.

I hope that dream becomes a reality for you DD! What a great snowbird destination and sounds like DH is just as in love with Brazil as you are!
