119.2 - unchanged

Quiet day yesterday with only 3 of us checking in. Is today the day DD travels back home?

We had golf yesterday though it was delayed by rain and was a bit soggy and cold to start. Had to buy a new quarter zip top from the Pro Shop to keep warm. We had fun with the couple we partnered with though. Our golf courses are filled with all kinds of birds who pay no attention to the golfers. One of them got hit by the other woman's golf shot and didn't even move until we went over to check to make sure it was okay at which point it gracefully flew off.

It is 44 this morning with a high expected in the 50's today. No water aerobics today. Essentially all our kids and other family members are suffering a Nor'easter today. Oldest DD is supposed to fly here from Westchester NY tonight at 7 pm to stay until Friday. She may or may not make it.

Meanwhile I have my new space heater plugged in and warming up the lanai while we sit here. Have a momentous Monday!

Good morning! What weird weather this winter! Usually it's reliably warm in Florida by the end of February. The weather here has been cooler than normal some days roo, which has been welcome, because normally February would have some humid days close to, or over 100 degrees. Instead it's been in the 80s mostly.

We leave our Airbnb today at 11 am, and then hanging out with my "sister in law" until she delivers us to the airport around 5. We fly to Sao Paulo, leave there at 11pm, and arrive in Atlanta in the morning. Atlanta to Minneapolis has us arriving around noon.

We're sad to be leaving, but hugely grateful for the wonderful time here. There's a quote I love about how the ache you feel is the price you pay for the richness of loving another place and the people who live there.

I'll finish up the last bit of my packing now. See you all in the Northern Hemisphere tomorrow!

What a trip you have had! Safe travels! I bet you will be exhausted for a while after your return but so worth it.

Busy puttering yesterday and I never got around to posting. It was my nine year "surgiversary" yesterday. Time flies.... I was about 8 pounds less last year having been on tirzepatide for a while. I then gained to 20+ pounds and am now here. I marvel at you all with your 2 pound "swings". My swings are like a carnival ride.

It was so gorgeous yesterday, we spent a lot of it outside. But first it was pancake and bacon day. I had eggs instead of pancakes, but kept the bacon of course. Then Claudia and I did ladder chores first (I hate being on ladders with a fear of heights so it's nice to have someone to hold the ladder). We changed out my weather station that had died and then put some speaker covers back in the ceiling after they'd shaken out from the roof deck repair pounding. Then she blew the dust out of the cat patio (still needs a lot of cleaning) and I took the couch weather cover off and hosed off all the red dust. We capped the day walking Kirby, having green enchiladas, and watching two episodes of the Night Agent.

Today is the start of being in the 70s. Crazy! There's even a 77 in the 10 day forecast. I'm getting my hair done, but that's it.

Loved watching the hockey team win! Imagine having your teeth knocked out and going on to make the winning goal. Heartier souls than me! I'd be sobbing and making an emergency call to the dentist.

Happy Surgiversary! My 10 year is at the end of next month.

I was thinking it was usually in the 70s this time of year where you are but just realized that I was thinking of Scottsdale where we spent the month of February in 2022. I forgot it was quite a bit cooler in Sedona when we visited there that month.

Yes, that hockey game was amazing!

Just talked to my DD and we rescheduled her flight to tomorrow. There was only 1 seat left on that flight. I was going to reimburse her for the cost difference but she contacted them and they are crediting her for the extra amount. That flight is the ONLY Westchester flight other than a Delta flight which hasn't yet been cancelled for today.

I love that little airport! I used to purposely fly into it when visiting my aunt in Greenwich. It was worth the Chicago layover not to have to deal with JFK, Laguardia or Newark!

so not much going on here. I was able to get the fed tax return figured out in spite of conflicting numbers. I think I have made sense of them and know how to proceed. We will have a small loss which makes this tax nerd happy.

cc Claudia is a rock star in my book for getting on a ladder. Glad that stuff is done. I think I am 16 years out from Vsg. Still glad I did it in spite of regain. I am like you - weight swings are big.

safe travels dd. Long haul. Love how your dh seems so at home with Brazil family. Nice. Hope Atlanta is not impacted by eastern snow storm.
yum hums tonight. Not sure about scrabble tomorrow. Depends on whether we get a big storm.
two more hours here. I shall attempt some exercise snacks to go with my actual snacks.
