Posting from the porch! Today's thrift store treasure was an LP of Elvis singing gospel. We still have a turntable, so we're listening to it right now. Its so nostalgic for me. Back in the 60s and 70s old school hymns were part of the soundtrack of my life. My Mom loved some of the Southern gospel groups and Mahalia Jackson. I think that's where my love of rhythm and blues came from. And not rnb, but How Great Thou Art still rocks my world.
It's an interesting idea Liz to start framing Cape Cod house as a place to visit, instead of another home base. With the ease of flying in and out of the Cape from Florida, you can easily stay connected. Would it be hard to keep the level of maintenance the two of you would like? Would you have to spend one of your weeks "opening" for the season, and another "closing"?
Peps, I'll see you in about 2 weeks! You are truly earning Road Warrior credentials this summer.
It's hard for me to remember it's almost mid August. Friends are starting to post pictures of their classrooms, and going to extra trainings. Not me Never been so relaxed in August probably in my whole life.
Good morning. Yesterday got away from me - mostly because I was exhausted! I took a 2+ hour late afternoon nap! (Which may not have been the best idea since I was awake until 1:30 last night!)
I'm not exactly feeling refreshed either. We woke up to Lucky having a seizure around 6:30 am. Generally not a big deal. They last about a minute, sometimes two, then it stops. He'll get up in a daze and then settle down to sleep to get over it. Today's seizure lasted about 15 minutes. I finally decided to take him in to the ER and was getting dressed when it stopped. He's back to his normal seizure hung over self. Whew! Had I taken him to the ER he most likely would not have been coming home. You may remember his brother had a "never ending" seizure last January and I went to be with him when he was euthanized.
203.2 I am pleased by this number since yesterday after a day of airplane travel I was up to 205 something. YIKES!!! That was not so okay in my book.
Today is a quick trip to the plastic surgeon, then Grizz goes for his final inoculations. I want to visit dad and I have a training session. I also need to start working on Buster for this weekend and our upcoming Minnesota trip.
Magnificent Monday to all!
I sure do! It works quite well! I can heartily recommend them as a place to get it!
I forgot to ask: Is anyone still sourcing Tirzepatide from Orderley? A friend is considering using them and wanted to make sure that the current compounded GLP-1/GIP will work effectively.

We have already been in Florida for 4 days and DH leaves in 3. Time flies when you are having fun! Somehow I lost sight of the fact that we have a mini-trip tacked onto this one which means I will end up being away a total of 2 weeks this time. Lots of coming and going! Makes me tired thinking about it. We must modify this pace for the future. One big consideration is that we stop making the change to the cape in the summer a major move, but just visit there a week or two at a time, keeping Florida as our home base. Something to think about.
Our visit with DH's former co-worker and his wife was quite interesting yesterday. I really liked her a lot and she was very different from what I expected. He is so talkative and once he starts there is essentially no interrupting him. I thought he was a narcissist only interested in himself but apparently he actually has Asperger's. So once on a tangent he can't get off it. And he has a difficult time interpreting other people's non-verbal cues as to whether they have something to say or are getting bored/lost with his discourse. His wife is almost exactly the opposite.
Today I have water aerobics and DH has golf, both immediately after our Justice walk so we need to be out the door by 7. Tough getting up when it is dar****il almost then. Dinner tonight is Mexican - we don't have any good places on the Cape for it and this place is great.
Have a momentary Monday!

Air shows can be fun to watch for a while but constant noise over one's house is definitely a bit much. Good thing you had a place to escape to.

The bus did leave at 7:30 yesterday (though we didn't need to worry about getting there before the crowds because there aren't any this time of year);)
I saw in the news that the storms were really violent in some parts of your state. I'm glad they weren't quite that bad for you. Good idea to bail out yesterday.

Greetings all
Another warm sunny day at air show central. I don't know what they did to insure clear skies for the two day show but it happened. Just saw two military jets out the back slider. I left and went to the studio a couple of hours ago as our neighborhood was getting buzzed non stop. Neighbors out in their yards watching the show. So at the studio one person had been to the show yesterday and enjoyed it. Allegedly, Bigfoot did a parachute jump.
Pool float day sounds good Liz. Enjoy the chatty dinner. I have always wondered why some people are so talkative - I have never been so but seem to attract such people. I think because I am a listener that my friends talk themselves through their issues while I sit in front of them. My superpower I guess.
DD you too have a superpower I suspect which is being welcoming and nonjudgemental. Glad your guests are finding their own way so you can have some drama free days. Nice to hear that nephew is improving and moving on. You need the porch to yourself.
Too bad about crappy weather Paula for the show and sale. Storms all over the midwest. Craft fairs can be fun and profitable but they sure are work. I actually did one three weeks after my vsg. Anyway glad you survived and dried off.
We started watching Stick on Apple tv. Comedy about a washed up pro golfer who finds a kid with super talent. Kind of funny.
The last of the pizza tonight and then I must figure out some food for next week. Banking chores await.

121.9, same as yesterday.
Rainy day today so the art fair exhibitors were given the choice to stick it out or bail without penalty! We packed up and bailed! I doubt they had many shoppers. I am a little disappointed that I didn't get rid of more stuff. I'll try FB marketplace. Sales were going quite good until the storms rolled yesterday. I guess our favorite Door County got hit very hard with winds yesterday too and there is a lot of damage and loss of power even yet today.
Your day yesterday sounded wonderful Liz! Lots of fun stuff to do and good friend to do it with! No mention of the Sunday bus leaving for breakfast. Did you break tradition today?
DD, so glad that your nephew will be moved into his new condo so you can get packing and have an uninterrupted party at your house!
Car is unpacked from the art fair and I went through everything that got wet and dried it off. Feeling nappy but it is already 3 pm so I think I will just relax and go to bed early tonight. The dogs had me up at 3:30 this morning! Grrrrrrr!
I love the idea of that journal!
And so glad it has been worked out with BFF, hopefully without too much awkward discussion. You will be free soon!
