Reading about Peps' facelift and seeing the results is making me contemplate doing another one. I would consider that and another upper eyelid lift. The filler around my mouth helps, but it is my neck and softening of my jowls that bothers me again. It has been almost 10 years since I had mine. It would depend on the cost and whether I felt like it would fit in. Hard to hide out here in Florida for the 2-4 weeks required for the bruising to subside.
I didn't do much yesterday though I did hang out by the pool next to our building and when it got hot, stood in the pool while I read yesterday. I tried taking Benadryl to see if it would help the reduce the weeping causing the blisters but that made me incredibly sleepy. I am going to have to get a non-drowsy antihistamine instead. Their is no real cure for this other than a low nickel diet and whenever I go over my body's threshold for it I will have the breakout and 3-4 weeks of blisters forming then healing after it. Some doctors think taking vitamin c with each meal will help block it. And others say soaking feet in epsom salts and taking antihistamines can help calm it down. I probably also should put that yucky steroid ointment on it too. But all remedies are after the fact other than the Vitamin C supplementation and there is no really good data on whether any of them actually help.
I did cancel yoga again today due to heel pain. I have decided to go ahead and play in the Nine and Dine golf tournament tomorrow afternoon. I will wear sandals if I have to. The thought of putting golf shoes on terrifies me right now. Today will be another hang around by the pool day, possibly at the beach club.
Not much else to report. Time for a Justice walk (in sandals). Did I tell you that yesterday's walk with him was cut short because my sandals broke and I had to walk home barefoot? If anything can go wrong...
Have a superb Saturday!

A successful subbing experience! Nice! As long as it enhances your life why not?
No one ever guessed that I had a facelift. They all just said I look more rested or happier or like I had lost more weight. Thats the goal of a good facelift I think: you look like yourself only better.

I never thought about the impact of sales on individual owners in a gallery like that. Interesting that you had to cut prices here. The artist we bought our painting from for over our fireplace was originally from Boston. Even though our community is relatively affluent, she said she had to lower her prices here compared to Boston. That was somewhat offset for her by a lower cost for gallery presence and eliminating studio rental space (she paints at home here ).

Driving in rain, especially torrential rain is stressful and no need for it at this point in life.
Your DH may not play games (neither do I or my DH), but apparently he has a group of friends he regularly lunches with? So he has his social outlet in a different way.

Your trip went so fast! I'm sure even faster for you than us voyeurs. Trip of a lifetime, which you can potentially repeat!
DH will find his rhythm with work. My DH needs something to do and here it can be golf, super long walks, swimming, etc. If we were up north in the winter I think he might consider part-time work too (something totally different from his previous stressful jobs). As someone who worked for years 3 days a week, I think 2-3 days is a nice schedule. But as you say, it is DH's decision. And it depends on how busy you guys get in retirement. Sometimes being tied down to a schedule gets really annoying after being retired if you get busy with other stuff.

Glad you had fun with your sub duties and it was easy to get back into teacher mode. I bet you do need a nap!
200.1 which is down a pound + from last Friday (sort of my "official" weight day). Liz, you were right - NUT was pleased, but mostly because I didn't "diet" or restrict to lose a little more weight.
Subbing was fun. The technological aspect at the first school was a cluster F or epic proportions. I won't bore you with all the details, but the debacle included having to use 4 different laptops (2 windows, 2 apples), wifi crashing, etc... A normal sub would have been at his wit's end. But I still had a good time with the kids and we did MUSIC! The second school was great. Everything went as smoothly as soft butter spreads! A lot of people commented on how much weight I'd lost and how refreshed and relaxed I appeared. I kept my mouth shut about the facelift. Had anybody asked outright, I would have come clean, but no one did, so who am I to blab?!?!?! Hehehehehe.... The office manager at the second school did not recognize me. She said, "May I help you?". I said back, "Oh dear God, I haven't been gone that long!" She got up and exploded about how good I looked and I have lost 20 years of stress age.... wink, wink...
Subbing did trigger eating behaviors. Very interesting to take note how I wanted candy just because it was there (office manager's counter - she supplies chocolate to the stressed...), and how things in the staff rooms called to me that wouldn't ordinarily- specifically pretzels and Froot Loops! So, Diamond D., it was okay and there was no shell shock. What I noticed right away is that I went straight into teacher mode as if I had never even stepped away. I even surprised myself how engrained my teacher persona truly is. I also learned today that a group of 4 years olds can be quite enjoyable. Get this, most of the kids I taught today had not even been born when Covid hit! YIKES!
Nap time for this old Geezer!
I always get a visual of clouds swiftly flowing down a street when you refer to atmospheric river!
I can't believe your Brazil vacation is winding down! What a time you have had! Thanks for sharing it with us in such detail!
Hope your feet are feeling better Liz and you were able to get out and about some!
