You were quite the busy beaver today! Loved the photo bong pic of Kirby and the new bedside tables! Enjoy the cool weather. I'm missing the 80's!
Sorry you got rained out! At least DD can rest up now before her surgery and hopefully nip and forming cold in the bud!
Safe travels home and enjoy the mini hotdogs
What a great idea of bringing clothes you don't mind getting rid of to make room for new stuff night in the trip! I'll have to remember that one.
Sorry about the stress surrounding your parents and BFF. At least travel is very near in your future!
Lol at a Minnesotan (or Wisconsinite) making a "hot dish" to bring to someone's house! Classic!
Greetings all
The sun decided to hide out about an hour ago. Fog is normal around here. The house got cleaned this morning and arrangements made with the cleaner/house sitter. The dogs are in for a treat. They adore her. I still need to do more stuff but our plane does not leave until 4pm tomorrow so I will likely end up just sitting around waiting to leave. DH kindly made up the guest room so that is done. Today I took some donations to the thrift store, did a gallery bank deposit, got travel cash and then went to the dentist for a cleaning. Wow that hygienist is thorough. Guess my teeth are pretty crappy.
Hamburgers tonight with extra meat to be left for the dogs. A little more laundry to be done and i will be ready.
Wow CC you got a lot done. Don;t you hate the smell of new stuff off gassing? When my mom moved to her new retirement apt we told them not to change out the carpet for that reason as the carpet already there was fine. Glad you are having your favorite summer weather!
Liz too bad the races got rained out. Hoping your DD is not getting a cold and stays well. Agreed that all day in bars is not a good idea.
DD wishing you a good day with your parents. Hoping for minimal drama. Good idea to ditch the sweater. I once knew someone who took old underwear on trips and tossed the dirty ones each day. Not exactly something I would plan but oh well.
Sending good energy on the house Paula.
Not much else. I will check in on the iPad for the next few days.

You got a lot accomplished!

Chore day and a beautiful day at that. Windy and clear, cool and not humid. My perfect day. Warm enough for shorts, cool enough for a sweatshirt.
I bagged up the mountain of packing materials from the tables, took my recycling to the bins (no home pick up here), then my cans to the aluminum can return at Meijer. It's 10 cents a can here and well over 90% of cans get recycled. Then grocery shopped. We are having people over tomorrow night.
I also did 3 loads of laundry, changed the bed, emptied the dishwasher...
I have all the windows open and fans on. The new tables have a chemical smell that's giving me a headache, so I'm trying to air them out. Ah, off-gassing. Blech.
Anyway, that's it for now. Take care!
Sorry the weather is treating you so badly, but good on changing plans. Sometimes people get too committed to the script and just end up miserable.
Update: Too rainy for the races so we are heading home a day early. Just not fun to be wet and miserable. Plus DD seems to have developed a cold in the last day and she has surgery a week from Friday so needs to be well for that. Instead we are doing our Thursday plan: stopping for mini hot dogs in Pittsfield MA on the way home. Apparently it is a big thing for people who live in that area (DH lived there right out if college). Home with Justice by early evening hopefully.

Great idea about the extra sweaters! I actually did that with a skirt that took a lot of room in Spain.
We have scratched the racetrack. 100% chance of rain today including heavy downpours. The first race at 1 was already cancelled (it is almost 11 now). We are going to head home mid-day because spending the entire afternoon at the bars is not an attractive option.

It seems like it's been unseasonably cool on the east coast this last week or so. Hope your feet can stay dry.
Warm here for a few more days, then the temp is dropping to fall weather. Peps should enjoy it. It will be mid 70s and low humidity.
Yesterday I worked in my office/closet organizing, purging and tossing. It felt so good to bring order to my desk and thin out my closet. I started getting out sweaters for my trip. I have a lot of fun summer weight sweaters that should pack well, but I think I should bring at least one thick sweater. Current plan, I have some I was on the fence about keeping during the last purge. There's nothing wrong with them, I just never wear them. I might bring one or two along, and then leave them behind. That will make room in my suitcase for souvenirs.
This morning I'll make a quick trip to the grocery store to get ingredients for a hot dish to bring to my parents house, and assemble it before we leave. Then off we go. My Mom did not get admitted to the hospital, so she will be home to update me about her appointment.
Tomorrow we are going to the State Fair, tagline: The Great Minnesota Get Together. As a kid from a farm family, and a 4-H member, the State Fair is in my DNA. When I was a kid, my Grandparents would come and stay from Duluth, and we would all go to the fair, cousins, uncles, aunts. Great memories.
Well that hot dish needs to get into the crockpot, so off I go!
