Good catch on the glasses - it would not have been good spending several weeks trying to adjust to them first.

I remember when I first sat on my porch when working at home and was doing online meetings. It never occurred to me that everyone else could hear the birds singing too (I say as I listen to the various birds singing and calling to each other here).

Time to do duty at your parents but at least that will be behind you. Just one more week of teaching??? It is easier to maintain weight at home because you can control the temptations. I don't have much junky stuff in the house and I tend to eat a lot of the same stuff focusing on healthy and protein forward. The only snack foods are planned snacks, like hummus and nut thins and on a super hungry day 1/2 English muffin with peanut butter (I try to keep those to only once or twice a week).

I was thinking about the question of prying into our children's social lives. I have always asked questions but I don't think I pushed hard if they seemed reluctant to talk about it. Usually they told me on their own how they felt if it was an important relationship fairly early on. DH never asks ANY questions and his children don't tell him much perhaps because they think he isn't interested? His eldest DD has been divorced 12-13 years and he has no idea if she has ever been on a date because he never asked her.

Glad you are making your way around even though a little sore. I have never had a large dog, but when I was dog walking at the shelter I worried about some of the big ones pulling me over. I never thought about being literally knocked over.

124.2 on Mom's scale today.

I left for home around 1:00 today and got home in time to have dinner with DH and DS3. I had shrimp tacos at the neighborhood Mexican restaurant!

I'm beat from not sleeping well 3 nights in a row! I think a bath, PJs and an early bedtime are in order! Tomorrow we will have a house full of kids (er, rather young adults!)

How can you be bored on vacation? Water aerobics sounds fun!

Greetings all

Sun and wind. Same old. Skipped the gym as I had eye doctor apt. It was for the annual exam even though I was just in there for new glasses after cataract stuff. Good thing I did it because they discovered one of my lenses is wrong. Lens maker made the wrong one. So no wonder it seemed odd. They had a couple of tests that I totally failed. New one on order. After that I made stuff at the studio.

Liz the Mexican restaurant sounds perfect. Smaller portions usually means better quality. If you want more food, order more! I love the places around here that have small plates and good appetizers. Looking forward to butterfly report.

CC you might have to wear a hockey player outfit with Kirby around! And so glad to hear on your Dad's pathology. Good news indeed.

Congrats DD on your last report. No nostalgia there. Bird sounds are so lovely - even if it is a bunch of crows (which we have). I think you need more plants. You just do.

This weekend is the Open Studios tour for local artists. Our studio participates. My studio roommate wants to go out and about to various places which is fine by me. I have to drive because we have the new car but I am going to limit the distances. My friend is a bit manic at times and I see no reason to go an extra 20 miles to a hamburger stand. We shall see.

Loose meat sandwiches for tonight. DH thinks they are gourmet faire.

We watched all the rest of Department Q last night. Really good. Thanks for the recommendation CC.

Cheers. Diane S

You are such a good Mom, I tend to want to pry but give up easily if there is resistance!
