Wow, things are moving so fast now.
I have a tentative surgery date of July 27, 2010. I turned in all my forms yesterday. Shari at Dr. Walsh's office is submitting my pre-cert today. My wife and I began the Liver Shrinking Diet. I was surprised how good a Carnation Instant Breakfast tasted. I also added a banana and some blueberries and plain yogurt. That was at 7:30 a.m. this morning. It is 11:00 now and I am not even hungry.
My application for surgery loan is being processed. I pray it will be approved as well as my pre-cert from the insurance company.
It's exciting and sometimes I can't believe I'm at this point. My wife and I have had several issues to work through regarding her total support. She does support me but is anxious that she may not be strong enough both physically and emotionally. And we've had to work through some issues when I did not give her my total support as she worked through her diabetes and other health problems. But we are at a much better place now, we have a good community of friends and a most wonderful church family.
My weight this week is 340. Let's see some changes!!!!

I had my initial consulation with Dr. Thomas Walsh in High Point, NC. Now working on the ton of reading and forms to fill out. Received many encouraging emails from other patients. All positive, informative and encourging. One however was surprising regarding my choice of Roux en Y as opposed to Mini Gastric Bypass. I may be confused as to which one they are recommending and will get more info next week.
I go on 6/8 for my psyc eval. Hopefully will learn more. Next step after completing all the paper work is to talk about an actual date.

Hi all, I have been a member of this forum since 2006. I almost forgot about it but was cleaning up my favorites recently and decided to keep it.
I am looking forward to my first consultation with a surgeon on Tuesday, May 4, 2010. I hope at that time I will find out what my insurance will cover, what my goals are and perhaps even set a date for surgery. I am glad to finally be taking this step.
Looking forward to getting to know some of you better in the next few months or years.
