Best Wishes for a successful surgery and smooth recovery! Weigh to go! I just read another post from someone who just had surgery and the thing that hurts the most is their BACK. And it is PAINFUL, not just uncomfortable. THE LAST THING YOU NEED TO TELL YOUR SURGEON, BEFORE THEY PUT YOU UNDER, IS TO PUT SOMETHING UNDER YOUR KNEES TO TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF YOUR BACK!!! Time and time again folks are coming out of the O.R. and their back is killing them. It’s because you are lying flat on your back for hours on a hard surface. How long can you do that now? If the surgeon will just put a rolled up blanket under your knees this problem will be eliminated! Got It?... Good…. Problem solved. (Or at least talk it over with him/her).

Hey Shearl ~ my heart goes out to you! What a tough this must be for you! I myself would realistically look at your bills and see if you can get by until you have your surgery. It could happen very quickly and then you won't have the pressure of returning to work before you are ready. If it looks like it could be a while before surgery then I would let them know that you could be have some abdominal surgery in the future but aren't too sure of dates, etc. You don't have to tell them anything you don't want to. You take care and keep fighting the good fight!

Shearl,
I am sorry to hear about the loss of your job. I am an Employment Services Coordinator in the Los Angeles area and I always tell my clients BE HONEST. Many of my clients are disabled in some way or another and feel as if they need to lie to a potential employer if they need to take off for surgery, etc.
You don't have to tell the employer what kind of surgery you will be having, but I would be honest. You don't say what kind of job you do but many times there are ways of telecommunting.
Additionally, you may be eligible for state disabiity. Check with your unemployment or social security office. <p. I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can of any service to you. You can visit your local One Stop job search center. They have a lot of information, as well. Sending many prayers!! Marcy

Shearl, thanks for sending me some love. I pray that all goes well with you. That your insurance company approves you, I know how it feels to wait when you want something done right away, but there is always a reason for everything. Just pray to God because the Lord is the only one who knows best. My prayers are with you. You are going to be approved. Just give it time.
