Man, I've been busy!

Student Teaching is kicking my much slimmer boo-tay! I have been so super busy these days that I forgot to take my 9 month update photo. Oh well, here is a 9 1/2 month pic. My loss has slowed WAY down. Sometimes I'll go a couple of weeks without any change, and that used to never be the case. I am still losing, but only about 6 lbs. a month now. That's still pretty good! Better than I would have done on my own for sure. Now that the weather is warming up I have started riding my bike again. I've missed it! Let's hope I keep it up. I should have more time on my hands soon - I graduate May 3rd! Woo-hoo!! Now if I could just get a job so I can start saving up for my plastics! ;-)

It's been 8 months since my RNY. I've lost 101 lbs. I just posted yesterday so I'll make this quick. Here is my 8 month picture.

Today is the day I've been waiting for! As of this morning I've lost 100 lbs!! I celebrated by going shopping at Ross. I got 2 shirts (L), 2 pair of pants (size 10), and 2 pair of shoes (cause a girl can never have too many). I have 30 lbs. to go to my goal, although my original goal was 20 more lbs. I'll be happy with either.
My 8 month surgerversary is tomorrow so I'll try to post a picture of me in one of my new outfits. I love my RNY!!

Back from the cruise!!

Wow, what a great time. There were some 70 OHers on the Weight Loss Celebration Cruise to the Bahamas, although I stayed mainly with Jenny R., Terri, PK, Melissa, Marli, her sister Stephanie, and Jessica. These girls are awesome. I mean truly, I think each and every one of them would give you the shirt off their back if a friend were in need. They were some of the most genuine, caring and fun gals I've ever met. Maybe it's because we've all been on lows and we are not taking our new lives for granted.
Anyway, we left from Jacksonville on Thursday, Jan 31 (day after my 33rd b-day) and docked in Freeport, Bahamas on Friday. Then Nassau on Saturday. Sunday was a restful day-at-sea, then we docked back in Jax on Monday morning. I had a blast. We hung out in the karaoke bar, disco, went shopping (a lot), ate (a lot), and generally had a great time. Marli, Steph and I went to the beach in Nassau, which was one of the highlights of my trip. I could have stayed there for days - just staring out at the aqua marine water. I'm a Florida native and live 15 minutes from beautiful beaches, but the Bahamas has us beat. Of course our sand is whiter, I have to give us that. I think I'll go on another cruise soon, maybe even take hubby along this time ;-).

It's been 7 whole months now! I'm down 92 lbs and in the "overweight" catagory, although I'm not too far from a "normal" BMI. I am student teaching now so I'm not able to browse the OH site as much these days. I will still keep up my page here, though. I'll be leaving for the Bahamas Cruise in 12 days to meet up with other great OHers!!!! Off now to go shopping!

My blood work was "perfect". My vitamin levels and cholesterol, etc. were in the normal range! The doc said I should be able to lose 100% of my access weight and that I am already "ahead of the game" in regards to how much I've lost. As of this morning I've lost 85 lbs!!

Weather was perfect here in FL - not too cold at all, sunny and beautiful. The campground had two children's parks, nature trails, and of course the beach.
New haircut. Love it short. PS: Down 80 lbs. today!!

I never thought it would come, but finally people are noticing my 70+ lb. weight loss. Yesterday I volunteered at my daughter's school to read books and I had a teacher there smile at me slightly, then walk right by me and talk to another teacher. When someone addressed me by name, this teacher that I thought was being a tad rude pivoted around abruptly and gasped, "YOU LOOK GREAT! I DID NOT EVEN RECOGNIZE YOU!" She then said that had she not heard my name it would never had registered. I told her how much she made my day. Then she said, "It must be all that bike riding I see you doing all over town." I just smiled and said, "Well, it certainly helps." :::Grin:::
