Thanks everyone for your support..
Almost to Onederland
Feb 06, 2009
I have only 2 pounds to go until I hit the most exciting time ever. I seriously cannot remember being under 204 pounds ever and guess what - I am there right now.
Words cannot even express how I feel right now. The comments I hear from people especially friends I haven't seen since before my surgery are mind swelling.
I can do this. Weightloss is not as fast as it was in the beginning. WHO am I to complain, I have lost 77 pounds since my surgery in September. I will keep on with my little journey and enjoy the ride.
I went to see my primary physician night before last and my blood pressure was only 110 over 70. Mind you, I am totally off my blood pressure medicine and have been for a month or so.
I also want to say thank you to all of my friends who have been right beside me to hold my hand along this journey. You guys are the best.
1st Thanksgiving Post Op

I must say it went extremely well.
We went to my husbands aunt and uncles. There was more than 30 of us there. I think there was more food than there is at the grocery store.
I did well. I had mostly turkey. It was moist and I was able to digest it. I had a few sliced carrots, a few peas and a little scoop of squash. The squash was yummy!!!
I hope everyone else did great today.
Happy Thanksgiving 2008
2 months out

I am happy to announce I have lost 40 pounds according to their scale and 43 according to mine. I was measured yesterday at the gym. Since the beginning of September, I not only have lost 40 plus pounds, but have taken off 18.25 inches off my body.
What a great feeling.
I have been having a bad week this week. I am addicted to the scale. I weigh every morning. The scale has not moved for me since Saturday. I feel like I am doing something wrong, but I am reassured by all I am just having one of those weeks. Boy, I hope this week gets over soon.
My blood work came back okay accept for my protein level. I am not getting enough protein. I consume about 60 grams on a daily basis but apparently that is not enough for me.

Michelle weighed me today, I have lost 26 pounds -- yes count them -- 26 pounds since I was there right before my surgery. My rings are beginning to be extremely loose and my bracelet my husband got for me for Christmas is getting too big. I cannot believe the words "too big" are coming out of my mouth.
As you can tell, I am having a good week this week. I am off my antibiotics and feeling good.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, Michelle (my trainer) also sells a line of food items at the gym. She gave me some protein drinks to try. The drinks come in a plastic bottle with the powder in them and all you have to do is add 8 ounces of water, shake it up and sip away. I tried one today, it was wonderful. Kudos to Michelle, I am going to get a few of them to incorporate in my new way of eating.
All for now... Talk again soon..
Hope all is going well with everyone..

22 pounds gone forever!!!
Sep 28, 2008
Once again I am sorry I have not posted in a while. It has been quite a ride.
The antibiotic I was prescribed for the C-diff ended up making my new little belly inflammed and I could not pass anything into my intestines. I was hospitalized again on Thursday the 18th for the night. I was placed on IV's to try to help my new belly calm down and it worked. I went back for another swallow study Friday morning the 19th and all was moving well. Thank god!!!! I stayed the remainder of the day in the hospital with my IV's and was discharges late in the evening on Friday night.
I went on Friday the 26th back to Dr. Loggins so he could make sure all was well. I am happy to say I have lost 22 pounds since my surgery. I am also happy to say I am never going to find those 22 pounds I lost again.
Today, I participated in the American Heart Walk in Lewiston. It was raining outside. Yuck!!! I only did the mile walk but that was enough for me in the rain.
Thank you for everyone who checked on me and called. Words cannot express how appreciative I am for all of you.
Talk again soon.

minus 1 day of 1 week post op
Sep 14, 2008
Sorry I haven't posted before now.
My surgery went well. Actually, it went better than I had expected myself. A little sore but I still kept moving in the hallways of the hospital.
I have been having a problem since Wednesday, the day I was discharged from the hospital. The dreadful diarrhea. This has made me extremely nervous. I couldn't tell if I was having dumping syndrome or what. I have spoken with Dr. Loggins office several times this week including yesterday (Saturday) and today (Sunday). I had to take the wonderful stool sample to the lab today. I was told by the lab this morning I would not know anything until tomorrow. I got a phone call this afternoon from Michael, Dr. Loggins PA, and he needed to call me in a prescription to my pharmacy for C-Diff.
I have to admit, after I got the phone call from Michael hearing what was wrong, I was releaved. I was scared that I was having some type of complication. I was taking my temperature morning, noon and night - checking to see if I had a temp.
Hopefully tomorrow, after a few doses of my antibiotic, I will be a new woman.
I will keep you posted.
Thanks to all who came to see me at the hospital, send me cards and e-mailed me. I can see why having a support system is so crucial. You guys are the BEST.
1 Day before WLS
Sep 07, 2008
I received a telephone call tonight around 5pm from the hospital. I was scheduled to be at the hospital for 9:30 am and my surgery was at 11:30am. Apparently the person who was scheduled first is not having the surgery so they moved mine up. I now have to be at the hospital at 5:45 AM - yes that time does come twice a day - and my surgery is at 7:30am.
I am doing better than I thought I was going to do. I guess it is because I have wanted this for so long and now it is coming true. The "Skinny Sherri" is waiting to get out.
It's now 10:15pm and I need to get some sleep, but I think that is something that I will not get tonight.
I will keep you posted on my venture.
2 Days until Surgery
Sep 06, 2008
I am obviously nervous, but doing okay. I am confident I have made the right decision to follow through with the Surgery on MONDAY.
I have been successful today on my clear liquid diet. I have had 2 jello's, 1 cup of beef broth and tons of water.
Tomorrow is going to be a challange. I am not going to leave my house. Apparently, rumor has it, with the delicious cocktails one must drink the day before surgery, I must stay around my house.
