Marsha-Marsha-Marsha

I have always been overweight, I remember as a kid the older boys on the bus made fun of me, and as I got older everyone did.  It was a mixed blessing I guess....as miserable as I was in school, it has made me a better person and more compassionate person.  It also made me very untrusting, but I'm beginning to get over that.
In 2000, I started a new career as a Special Education teacher.  I had a wonderful principal who took a chance on me and gave me a job.  In January 2001, I started on Weight Watchers at the weight of 420 lbs.  I lost 100 lbs in 10 months, then lost 110 lbs. more over the next two years.  I maintained that weight until my father's health forced us to make the decision to move him to a nursing home in 2006 and his death in June, 2007.  I seemed to have lost my focus during that time, I was not exercising like I did before I started spending quite a bit of time with him at the nursing home in the afternoons.  Slowly the weight started inching up, then it took a giant leap and before I knew it I had gained back 110 lbs.
I started researching RNY in the spring of 2008 and made my first visit to the Weight Wise Clinic in Edmond, Oklahoma.  My niece and I went to an information session and made appointments to see Dr. Walton in June.  The best decision I have ever made.
