On Friday, I will be meeting with Dr. Lahmann at BMI Surgery in New Lenox, Illinois. This will be my fourth attempt over the past 15 or so years to start the bariatric surgery process. So far, I have my consultation scheduled (Friday's appointment), an appointment with a psychologist for the evaluation (January 5th), and am looking forward to getting the ball rolling on this! At this point of my life - getting ready to turn 46 - I am facing a pending knee replacement surgery on my right knee, my thyroid is still not functioning properly, I have issues with narcolepsy and insomnia, degenerative joint and disc disease, osteoarthritis, have suffered with gout in my feet, unbelievable pain and issues with my spine, pre-diabetic that's heading into type 2, fibromyalsia, neruopathy in my legs because of pressure on nerves while sitting, and my BMI is somewhere between 55 and 56.

My sister had VSG done on November 22nd and I can already SEE the difference it has made for her! I am weighing the options between VSG and the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass. I believe, with all the issues that I have been dealing with physically, that the Gastric Bypass will be my best option, but I know that Dr. Lahmann will discuss what he believes will be my best choice on Friday. I am so very excited to be on this journey!!
