My name is Danielle, I am a 28 year old mother of two with a very supportive husband. I have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. I think it all went down hill starting in the 2nd grade. The first time I tried to do anything about my weight was the summer before high school when I lost 40 lbs on Atkins. I remember how great I felt, how much self confidence I had...if I had not lost that weight I don't think I would have had such an amazing and successful high school experience!
Then in college the weight crept back on and this time I did weight watchers to lose quite a bit of the weight. After college I moved away from my family for an amazing job offer and while away let more weight creep on. Then I got pregnant with my daughter and gained 68 lbs. 12 months later, after not losing the baby weight from my daughter, I was pregnant again with my son. This time I didn't gain nearly as much weight, but I had already packed on the pounds from the previous pregnancy.
After I had my son I knew I needed to do something about my weight and tried weight watchers again. I was making some great progress losing the weight, but then we moved back to FL to be near family and in the process lost our house, which left us living at my parents until we were back on our feet. I was very depressed about having been so successful in life up until that point and then all of a sudden I was living at my parents, crammed into 2 bedrooms with eight ever. Thats when I knew I needed help.
I started researching weight loss option last year in April and then in June 2010 I finally got the nerve to schedule some consults and speak to a surgeon. My surgery has been scheduled for 2/11/11. I'm ready to be able to coach my daughters soccer team this fall and not feel self conscious out there. I'm ready to tie my son's shoes and not feel my belly between my knees when I squat down. I'm READY!!!
