8 and 1/2 weeks out

May 21, 2017

So, I waited to post again because other than weight loss, there is not a lot to report at this time. I am down 45 pounds already. Amazing! I feel great, take my vitamins and make sure that I get all my protein and vegetables.  I did have to change protein drinks. Found that the concentated protein hurts my stomach something fierce (I am lactose intolerant) so now I am on Isolate protein and not having the gastric issues. 45 pounds.... that is so hard to wrap my head around. I have lost over half my goal. It's a work in progress. I am exercising at the gym. Thought it would be a set back this past week because my gym didn't let people know that they would be shut down for renovations. I went to a walking trail with a friend instead, got off the regular trail and instead sprinted the hillside.  My knee hurt for 3 days but was worth it. Still having some issues with that but not like it was. My hip has been bothering me some but again, I can deal with this.  I am ON MY WAY!!!

Week and a half out

Apr 02, 2017

I lost 14 pounds in 11 days. I am like, WOW!. I was back at work in a week, and being a nurse means that I am off and running again.  No issues at all once I got home.  Lots of changes with diet  but that is alright. My family is wonderful about supporting me in this.

I got my authorization and date!!!

Mar 13, 2017

I have been approved! Those words are some of the most amazing words that I have ever heard in my life. My surgery date is set for March 22nd. YAY! I am beyond excited about this. I have prayed about it so many times and I finally stopped asking for HIM to grant the surgery but instead turned it to, if it is YOUR will. Today I got the phone call.  I was originally told to expect it to take the full 2 weeks for an answer and approval from insurance but today, 6 business days after everything was submitted, I got it.  No, my BMI isn't over 40, it is a 37 but I have had surgeries that have truly affected my weight. I had my thyroid removed in 2001 and gained 60 pounds in less than a year. I am now about 85 pounds more than I need to be. I have already had my gallbladder removed so I don't have to worry about that. I am so ready for this to happen. Now, prayers that all goes well.
