Funny you should say that, Melissa. My surgery is in two days and a wake up and food does not seem to be my focus. Especially sweets make me not interested. I am hoping it is my mind preparing itself for the big shocker! Carol

Melissa, my open RNY in July of this past year took 1 hour and 45 minutes. I was in recovery for about 6 hours, but skipped over the ICU and went right to the step down unit. It's all pretty much individual though. If they get in there and there's scar tissue from any previous surgeries it could take longer, if they find out you need your gall bladder removed it could take longer, or it might be less time. There are so many different variables. Good luck to you. Sending lots of warms wishes, prayers, and {{{HUGS}}} your way and hope your surgery is uneventful, your recovery is quick and painfree and you have many months of weightloss followed by a lifetime of good health.
