Hi Debbie....Just a lil over 2 weeks to go and I bet you're nervous. I too had Dr Mary Murphy and I really didnt even see her til the day after surgery. About taking all those things to the hospital....I didnt use half the things I brought not even my nightgown or robe. I stayed in hospital gowns the whole time (its hard to change when you're all connected). Scripps provided me with a fan when I asked. Scripps also provides toothbrush & paste, mouthwash, lotion, & roll-on and some other stuff I cant remember. The only thing I really needed was my clothes to go home in and my cell phone (couldnt live without that). About the hotels...I ended up staying in S.D. alone and boyfriend didnt get a hotel and wait there 3 days for me to get out. He would've been bored out of his mind. Just pick me up and drop me off. Depending on how well you do...she may let you travel all the way home when you are discharged (especially if u moan about the cost). I too hate protein drinks. I bought my pro-complex at GNC and I use chocolate and add peanut butter to it. I only used 1% milk cuz I hated the nonfat. There is also a drink its like a punch that has a lot of protein in it from bariatriceating.com I just bought some but havent recieved it yet. I frequent Bakersfield quite a bit. My mother lives there and I used to live in Tehachapi. My mom lives off of Rosedale a few miles from the Wal-Mart. Anyhoo if you have any questions feel free to email me anytime. Congrats on your upcoming new life
