Hi Janie! Congratulations on your new life, you are an inspiration! I appreciating you keeping your profile updated. I am beginning this journey of wls and have my first consultation on 5-21-03. I'm wondering, after reading your profile and your problems with your gall bladder and liver, was is still worth it? I guess thinking of having the complications like you have had scare me a little more than the wls. I appreciate anything you would like to share with me! God bless!

Happy re-birthday, Janie! I am nine months post-op and always recognize your posts (and I keep up with your profile, too). There are probably many more like me than you know, lurking about, who just read your profile (I love long-term post-op profiles that are kept up!) and found courage in seeing you do so well. I hope you continue to have a happy and healthy life, and congratulations on all that you have accomplished. Thank you for keeping up your profile, too!

Two years ago today as I sat at this computer, my husband took a picture of me. It was a surprise, because I never let anyone take pictures of me if I could help it. He knew I was mad, but he told me he wanted to take a picture of me so I could see what I looked like the day before my new life began. That picture is on my profile and you can tell I was mad. I had my surgery the next morning and now looking back at that picture, I need to thank my sweet husband. I look at this picture and even though I will never forget what I felt like and how people treated the "old" me, it is really hard to believe that I have come so far. I don't come to the message board to post anymore, but I do keep up with all of your stories. I read most everything and realize most things are still the same, with the exception of the amount of members that have joined this site. People are still being turned down by insurance companies, people are still losing their hair after surgery, people are still hitting plateaus and people are still supporting everyone. I still recommend this site to anyone that asks me about this surgery. I have never hidden the fact of what this wonderful tool has done for me. I do believe everyone should research and I believe this site gives everyone most of the answers. My life and those I love that are around me have changed dramatically. I can keep up with my sweet 10 year old grandaughter. My husband can hardly keep up with me. I rarely sleep late anymore because I don't want to lose any precious moments. I have tears in my eyes as I type this note and I'm sorry it's so long. I have never taken up so much space on this site before. I do update my profile but not as often as I used to. I love my life and family so much that it aches. I want everyone to know that those of us that are and have been obese for most of their life deserve all the happiness that we can get. Don't ever give up and realize with patience your dream can come true. Thanks to all the older post-ops for inspiring and helping me along the way. I hope my info on my profile might someday inspire those of you that are on your way. Keep smiling and always remember where you came from. It makes you a much more tolerant and kind person. Thanks to all of you and Happy Birthday to me. Janie

Janie, I have seen cases where the blisters lasted for 10-14 days. However I have heard sometimes the pain can last for months and in some cases lifetimes. Hopefully it will be a short lived pain in your case. Best of Luck, Tamara
