where to start first thank you all who have posted well wishes to me. my surgery date has been moved to october 31 spooky huh? why u may ask? a major screw up by whom I have not as of yet determined. if any of you have been following my trails and tribulations you all know what a horriable time i had getting the time off of work. the problems I WENT THRU WITH MY LESS THAN CARING DEPT MANAGER. well they did not stop there. is it a sign that i should give it all up i am not sure. the day before my surgery I got a call from the insurance person in the surgeons office stating my insurance did not approve my surgery for lap gastric bypass only open and my doc only does it open so I was shit out of luck. I have had approval letter in hand since aug 22 and they are just now contacting me 1 day b-4 surgery?????? well I did a three way between my self, ins company and ins person at doc's office to get it stright. the ins co sadi there was no problem it was approved 4 lap procedure he did not know where they got their info from. ins gal said she would have doc call me well his demaenor was horriable they are doing so many of these you are now reduced to a dollar sign not a person. he said i am sorry these things happen and we gave your time slot to someone else. what the f***??? I got this straight in 1/2 an hour and they could not do thet same??/ so he said i was looking at now January some time. I said no way I can do that I went thru hell with my manager there is no way I can get my time off of work back as the schedules are made months in advance and my hours now belonged to someone else. I was faceing 5 weeks off of work with no surgery and no pay. sorry but i don't know who can afford that certainly not me!!!! one of his affialiates(sp) took my case and got me in for halloween but now as if worrying about surgery was not enough every time the phone rings and I see the 312 area code i start to freak out thinking here we go again. so far so good keep me in your prayers and keep your fingers crossed something else does not go wrong.

Andrea! Best wishes to you on 10/23. May all go well. I will be having surgery the same day (hopefully). My surgery was set for 10/11 but was cancelled. A big disappointment. I am looking forward to 10/23 and hopefully all will go well for all of us having surgery that date. JoAnn from Woodhaven, Michigan having surgery at BTC in Ypsilanti Michigan

Hi Andrea so happy that you are finaly going to get your surgery!!! "Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, any one can start from now and make a brand new ending." You may have to work for it, however." - Richard Bach "I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning." ~ J.B. Priestly "Each of us has an inner dream that we can unfold if we will just have the courage to admit what it is. And the faith to trust our own admission. The admitting is often very difficult." ~ Julia Cameron "The block of granite which was an obstacle in the pathway of the weak becomes a stepping-stone in the pathway of the strong. That block of granite is often nothing more than a decision." ~ Thomas Carlyle "Being yourself is not remaining what you were, or being satisfied with what you are. It is the point of departure." ~ Sydney Harris "Risk! Risk anything! Care no more for the opinion of others, for those voices. Do the hardest thing on earth for you. Act for yourself. Face the truth." ~ Katherine Mansfield "Too often we are scared. Scared of what we might not be able to do. Scared of what people might think if we tried. We let fears stand in the way of our hopes. We say no when we want to say yes. We sit quietly when we want to scream. And we shout with the others, when we should keep our mouths shut. Why? After all, we do only go around once. There's really no time to be afraid. JUST DO IT." ~ Nike advertising campaign "I am convinced that attitude is the key to success or failure in almost any of life's endeavors. Your attitude - your perspective, your outlook, how you feel about yourself, how you feel about other people - determines your priorities, your actions, your values. Your attitude determines how you interact with other people and how you interact with yourself." ~ Carolyn Warner "Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives." ~ Author Unknown "It's never too late to be what you might have been." ~ George Eliot "For every beauty there is an eye somewhere to see it. For every truth there is an ear somewhere to hear it. For every love there is a heart somewhere to receive it." ~ Author Unknown "Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to the end, requires some of the same courage which a soldier needs." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson A wish changes NOTHING; A decision, changes EVERYTHING "So many of our dreams at first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable."
