Pam I just read your entry about your uncanny ability to jog in such hot weather. Even I can't do that in overcast seattle, and it would appear that we are about the same height and weight!! Just how did you do it??? I see you don't have an angel, and I would love to volunteer. I can tell you a little about myself. I am almost 48 live in Seattle, WA and have a 8 3/4 year old daughter. I was her foster mom from 5 years to 7 and adopted her 2 years ago. Never in my life did I imagine I would be a mother at my age. My peers have kids that are 20 YO. I'm just starting the process about having surgery. I go to a seminar on 8/12 and will start the process then. Been overweight all my life, but weight has increased in the last year. Good job, bad supervisor, and finally I quit about 6 months ago. Never been unemployed, and a vocational rehabilitation counselor, and my job is to help people find jobs!!! It is always an eyeopener being on the other side...Anyway going back to work next week with a former employer and their insurance covers surgery!!!!! I was attracted to your sense of humor, and the fact that you are so candid....Anyway I would love to be your angel. Send me an e-mail and we can talk more.

Dear Pam~~~My heart aches with you. I HATED having pictures taken. Then I thought, everyone sees me so why should it matter if they see me in a picture? I am the one that doesn't see myself because I avoid mirrors. So I just try to smile pretty for the camera. I would rather see a good expression than a sour one that would make me feel even worse. Besides soon we can look back at these pictures and thank God for giving us the gift of this surgery to look and feel better. I hope this helps. SMILE PRETTY! God bless. PEACE

Dear Pam.........I sure do recognize your feelings about hating ourselves in photos. I'm horrified whenever I get caught in a picture. YUCK! I have to grit my teeth cause my oldest daughter wants some of me cause she goes away to school and misses me. Isn't that sweet? Our family loves seeing us no matter what we look like because we are precious to them. All I can say is think of your great photos to come after surgery. I wonder if my family will allow me to cut up all my 'before' photos once I lose my weight? lol I noticed in your profile that you have diabetes. WLS is the very best thing you can do for it! I have it too and spoken to lots of other diabetics and they all tell me of the most wonderful results of being completely off their medication or having it drastically reduced after surgery. This surgery adds many healthy years to a diabetic's life. I can't wait to celebrate with you when you get your surgery date! God bless :)
