I just got off the phone with him and he sounds absolutely FANTASTIC! hehehe, the truth be known the man had more energy then ME! He said he feels as great as he sounds. There is little to no pain and discomfort, with the exception of coughing. He disliked the NG tube the most. Not only because of the expected discomfort, but also because of the added dryness and thirst it caused. Thankfully, that was removed this morning.

He was up and walking almost immediately after surgery (4 times yesterday) and has continued to walk on a regular basis (8 times today). He's crunching on ice chips and sipping on juice via a 1 oz. cup so as not to "gulp" and over fill his new stomach pouch.

Dr. Weber was very impressed with Glenn's results, positive attitude and overall outlook. As long as he continues at this rate, barring any complications, they will be releasing him from the hospital on Sunday.

Once again Glenn, CONGRATULATIONS, we are so proud of you. It's official Hon, you now have two Birth Day's to celebrate, the one you were born on and the day you were RE-BORN! Lots of love & Big ol' Hugs, Lei & Paul

Hi Glen! It's now the day after your surgery and I was so happy to meet you yesterday. I'm the one that came by in the afternoon with Edie.It wasn't too long after your surgery and you looked great and seemed in great spirits! That is so awesome, but with the sweetheart wife that you have I'm not surprised! Take care & stay strong! :) Michelle

The first huge step has successfully been taken towards his healthier new life. Wow, how exciting!!!

They still have him in the "recovery room" so we weren't able to talk on the phone yet. The surgeon (Dr. Weber) said that there were NO complications and that he couldn't have hoped for a smoother, more perfect outcome. (I'll be using the SAME surgeon when my time comes up, so that's very comforting to know)

I'll check in again tomorrow and will update all of you on his progress.
