Hi, My birthday is today and i just turned 51 years old but my REAL birthday was Sept 1, 2002 , 7 years after my Reux En Y gastric bypass. I have started to put on a few pounds this year more than usual and have hit the 200# mark which absolutely scares me to death. It has been a rough year for me though> I was in an auto wreck, divorce was final after ending a 30 year marriage, resigned from my job and got even a better job, starting to date, etc. YOu would think I would have lost weight with all the stress but I managed to gain by eating totally inappropriate amounts and types of food. The surgery has been a great tool for me but I have also stretched my stomach back out. Thank goodness for the bypass part. It has helped me keep at least the first 100# off for 7 years. I have a good feeling that this year I will get serious with my weight management and take off 20-40# this year. I may need to consider a redo but I would like to just try and get serious with my eating. It seems like this eating problem never does end even with the surgery. BUT I still would do it again in a heartbeat and still feel it is the best solution at this time for morbid obesity.
