Just a quick note to wish you a swift surgery and a quick recovery from your panni. May the angels continue to watch over you.

5/15/2002 Friends- Today I went for my pre-op tests in preparation for the herniorraphy and panniculectomy scheduled for May 21st. The difference since my surgery 2/2001 is amazing. Then I needed assist to get in and out of my Big Girl Wheelchair; I couldn't stand for more than 30 seconds without severe back pain. People stared or looked away. My trips out of the house necessitated elaborate planning and large blocks of time to accommodate my efforts to move. Today, people interacted with me without looking away. I use a cane now because of the severe arthritis but I leave the house on a whim--elaborate planning now centers on my wardrobe not who can assist me wherever I go. Today was a breeze. I hope the surgery is as well. Please keep me in your prayers. To all those awaiting surgery--it is a life altering, life affirming process.

Thank you so much for your interest in me and MY story. I looked into disability on the SSD web page and it said you must be disabled for a year before applying. I don't even know who to call? I guess I will look in phone book? I only have been out of work since March. Your story was amazing. I read it all. I worked 22 yrs as an RN so maybe my work history will help me? THANK YOU so much for you information. I really appreciate it. - SASRN :)
