Alright - Mary is doing just SUPER! No tubes, not hooked up to anything .... walking all over the hospital. Dr T. told her yesterday that she could go on home .. but then he didn't sign the release papers. Right now she's waiting for him to come in and turn her loose! She hasn't been sick at all - been drinking all her 1 oz cups of yummy broth and water and all those "yummy" things.

I talked to Mary on the phone today - she sounds GREAT :o} and is doing great. They have removed all IV's. Only has the heprine lock left in place. Dr.T told her this AM that she would be able to go home this afternoon, but Mary told me that after that her nurse took her BP and that it is way up so will have to see if she still gets to go home today. They gave her tea to drink and she wasn't to happy about that as she hates tea but also got some broth. She has been doing her walks nad drinking her water. Mary I am soooo happy to hear you are doing so well and I am soooo happy for you. Keep up the good spirits and keep on smiling. Love ya.....

Well, I finally got to talk to Mary - she's doing great. She had her "leak test" done this morning and good news .. no leaks! So by now I'm sure she is having that first sip of juice or broth. I'm going up to see her after work tonite, and I'll post when I get home from the hospital.

Well, just a real "quickie" of an update; Mary's husband called me and said she did just fine with her surgery - she's on 2 South at Gulf Coast Hospital - I stopped by for a quick minute after work, but she really wasn't up to visitors tonite so I just left her the happy flower I made her and a copy of the Obesityhelp.com book I ordered for her, and told her I'd see her tomorrow.

Here I sit - it's 12:34 pm and as of about an hour ago Mary wasn't back in her room yet. I have a friend who is the admitting nurse on the floor Mary is staying, so she will keep me posted until I can get up there tonight. I talked to our other friend Becky, who had the surgery 2 months ago - she is doing great and called to check on Mary. Nasty day - I can't think of ANYTHING better to do on a day like today than begin the rest of your life Mary! See you tonite!
