yesterday I found out that my job is laying off people. I know this is going to sound weird, but I've been patiently waiting for this for a long time. I've wanted to quit my job and go back to school. I'd said if nothing happens by the end of May then I'll quit. And then yesterday morning I received the call. I am so excited I don't know what to do! Then I thought of all my friends who did not have a backup plan. I feel so guilty. I am trying not to be too excited in front of them. But I want to jump for joy. Okay, so Florida I am coming a little bit early. Oh I weighed myself yesterday and the scales said 242.6....That's down from 287. WOW!

02/03/03...Well I had my checkup today. I'll be 7 weeks out on Wednesday. The scale at the doctor matches the scale at Smoothie Factory so that's where I'll be weighing from now on. Everything is ok with me. Surgeon said I don't have to see him again unless something goes wrong. I can just continue to see my PCP. I am not scheduled for any more labs until April. Oh Goody!!! I now weigh 250 pounds. That's 41 pounds less than when I first saw the surgeon. And 37 pounds less than the day of surgery. I am feeling so great. I've been trying to walk 5 miles per day. I haven't reached that goal yet. Yesterday I walked 4.39 miles. Today I was only able to walk 3.35 miles. We'll see what happens tommorow. I still don't eat much food. My surgeon said this will change around the 4-6 month mark. I hope so. This is my routine. I have a Real Meals shake in the morning. (I take it to the Smoothie Factory and have them make it for me). Then for lunch I have half of a cup of chicken chilli from Jason's Deli. Then for dinner, I have another Real Meals shake, again from Smoothie Factory. I just can't seem to eat any food. I don't want any. Every morning I bundle up, go to the park near my house and walk, walk, walk. It has a marked trail. Sometimes I don't want to stop walking!! I feel so good!!. Well this is long enough. Just wanted to share!!! 12/18/02 - 287 pounds --Day of Surgery-- 01/06/03- 265 pounds -- 1st checkup 02/03/03 - 250 pounds -- 2nd checkup

It appears that my scale at home was being extremely nice to me. It said that I weighed 260. At the doctors office today, the scale said ...'listen here lady, you're 265'. What could I say. 22 pounds in 2 1/2 weeks is not bad. I walk everyday(except today). I think I am going to have Sunday and Monday be my day offs from exercise. I am having a problem with eating though. I don't seem to be hungry. I drink my water but to eat a meal is hard work. Today I had a yogurt for breakfast. then i had a 1/2 of wendy's chilli for dinner. the rest of the day i just had water. what should i do?
