Today I talked to my PCP about WLS. He is very eager to help me get approved and get it done. I gave him the name of the surgeon that I want to see, and he said he was going to have his nurse call for pre-authorization. I have no idea how long this will take, but hopefully not too long. Will update more as I find out.

I'm new to this site, so please bear with me. LOL I was recently approved for IN medicaid. I want very much to have the WLS. However, I've run into the problem of not being able to find a doctor in Indiana that accepts medicaid unless I have pre-approval. I contacted Dr. Shina in Louisville, because he did my sisters surgery, but was told they no longer accept medicaid without pre-approval, and that getting pre-approval could take up to 2 yrs. I seriously don't think I have this kind of time. I have type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and arthritis very bad. If anyone has ANY information that might help me, I would appreciate it if you'd get in touch with me. I'm looking for a dr that accepts medicaid without pre-approval. Thanks
