Barbara, Sounds like you came through with flying colors! Can't wait to hear how it goes from here! I hope someday to share the experience with the WLS group also.

03/08 Hi every body I made it with grace thank you Susan and Rhonda for posting and coming by to see me! Well I was nervous and neurotic before the surgery and I will say if you are afraid it’s healthy to care about your self But as one person posted the bowel cleanse is the worse part of it if you have it done lap. I walk 2 hours after surgery and walking help eminency. The pain just feels like I did to many sit ups, that’s all. I just got home and my husband said I thought you would be in here (my office). Now the next challenge will be the protein drink and jello for two weeks. I can tell you now that I am not hungry and it has been since March 4th, 5 days on liquids since my last meal. Any way thank you all for your support. I will see you Susan and Rhonda at the next support meeting. Love, Barbara

ANGEL REPORT. Rhonda and I went to visit Barbara last night after our support group meeting. What a lady!! She looked fantastic and was having no pain. She had been up walking many times. She will have her leak test today and hopefully will go home tomorrow with absolutely no complications. Dr. Nguyen did his job well. Congratulations Barbara! It was so nice to put a face with a name!!

ANGEL UPDATE. Just got off the phone with Barbara. She had a lap RNY yesterday a.m., and is doing WONDERFUL! Walked last night and hasn't used her morphine pump yet today. I can't believe how good she sounded. She said everyone at UCD was being wonderful to her (which is a little out of the oridinary for UCD). But she attributed that to the fact that today is her birthday. Happy Birthday Barbara and welcome to the other side!! Rhonda Davis and I will be visiting Barbara this evening after our support group meeting. Way to go Barb!!

Barbara- Dr. Nguyen did my surgery on Nov. 20th. Now, at three + months out I look back and can honestly tell you that the worst thing about the entire operation and recovery was that blasted "pineapple drink". Just remember to make up your mind that you will get up and move around as soon as possible. Your recovery will be much quicker. AND, come that day after surgery and they tell you they want you to get up and go to the bathroom on your own... and you're in such a funk you don't know where you are... then lay off the pain button for awhile. You'll feel much better and will be able to get up. (It makes you really dopey) God Bless! -Julie
