So when I started this weight loss journey I was 365lbs. I had decided enough was enough. I did everything I was supossed to do to lose weight the natural way and it worked I losted 40lbs in less then 3 months. I went to the Dr for a normal yearly physical and she said " I see that you lost some weight would you be interested in maybe getting some help with weight loss surgery? " I couldn't believe that after all the years of being my Dr she had never brung it up. I said do you think the insurance will approve she said of course she didnt see why not she said she would send it in and let me know what happens, that was on Monday March 9th.
Friday March 13th I recieved a phone call from a Bariactric Surgery Office saying that my referral was aproved and they just the faxed in the authorization, and when was I available. I of course told them as soon as they could get me in. She just happened to have a cancelation the next day at noon and I just jumped right on it. Saw the surgeon, surgeon said I was an ideal candidate. Labs and xrays and ultrasounds and psychological evaluation were done.
Dr.s office called on April 6th and said they had a date for surgery for April 30th I was super excited, it was really happening. Then it happened I go into the office for my consent signing and last rules for dieting before and after when the surgeon walk and said I have bad news, of course that's not what you want to hear from your surgeon. He said that there was a flood in the operating room I was assigned and the ceiling caved in. Then I think he could tell by look of complete look of sadness how I felt about the whole thing. Then he said we are just going to have move your date up a week and perform it at another near by hospital instead, is that ok with you, if not I could wait the 3 week it would take to fix the other OR. The choice was mine. Of course thats a no brainer I picked a week early instead.
Now here I sit with exactly 13 days to surgery and extremely nervous. But also very ready.
