I've worked through the latest rough spot and have settled into eating somewhat "normal" food. I'm down 126 lbs. from my all time high. Thanks for all the support.

After my initial pre-surgery weight loss of 50 lbs. and my post-surgery weight loss of 52 lbs. I have now lost a total of 102 lbs.!

I won't lie, it hasn't always been easy. I'm still having trouble figuring out what my "new" stomach will allow me to eat and what it won't. I'm hanging in there though........

Surgery was on the 7th. Went to the doctor today for my release. Things are going well except for a minor infection in one of the incisions. Averaging about 1 1/2 lbs. per day loss. Feeling better every day and seeing a change already. Tired of the liquids, ready for solids!

I had surgery on Monday and came home on Thursday. Had some side effects with Reglan. Had me extremely anxious and upset. Couldn't stay in the hospital bed. Felt hot and confused. Stopped the Reglan and almost instantly improved.

Much better today. Home and sleeping in the easy chair to relieve pressure on my stomach. I am usually a stomach sleeper so that's kinda hard.

I still have the JP drain in and am experiencing blackish diarrhea. Doctor said to forego the Lovenox and see how that works. At first I was thinking what the Hell have I done, now I am okay with things.

I can say one thing for certain, my loving and kind wife was an angel throughout this. Were it not for her I wouldn't have made it this far.
 
Having no problem getting in fluids and protein thanks to Kroger Carbmaster yogurt, Muscle Milk Light protein (chocolate and banana creme mixed), Crystal Light lemonade and Isopure Zero Carb Grape Frost (40g).

Have an appointment to take the JP drain out next Wednesday with a follow-up on the following Wednesday.

June 7th. Yippee Skippy!

I go for my FINAL counseling session tomorrow (5/14) and will be resubmitting my paperwork to AETNA AGAIN. Hopefully I will receive a positive response back next week and will be able to set a surgery date.

And I am down 30 lbs. to date. I feel much better already.

Now I have to complete an additional two nutritional classes. Which means I have to wait another month at least before I can get my okay from the insurance gods. I don't understand how they can just decide that I need something additional that is not listed as a requirement beforehand, BUT THEY CAN.

Once again, AETNA will not be my choice next insurance selection period.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem with Aetna, but they say one thing and do another. I have followed the guidlines as set forth by Aetna, now they are adding an additional 2 months of nutritional visits to my requirements. Had I known that when I did my additional MD visits, I could have been doing the nutritional at the same time and be done by now. Sorry, but I am PISSED!

If you have a choice between insurance plans, I wouldn't suggest Aetna from my perspective.
