4- Days post op =The Hunger
Nov 22, 2010
So I'm day 4 post op and the hunger is starting to set in. I can't blame my family for eating regular but i do (ever so often) shoot them with dirty looks. I'm starting to get emotional at the fact that i can not eat and the tears are bugging me. I thought i was strong enough to do this but every day I'm hit with the realism that it has been 18 days since I've had anything of substance in my stomach. (2 weeks pre-op + 4 days post op).
-I had an issue with gas but it has been getting out and the gas pressure in my chest/stomach is dying down but i do notice a pain in my shoulders... i hope that is not where the gas went to hide.
- also i have noticed the that my steri-strips on my incisions are beginning to fall off. i guess that is good but there is one incision that has not healed fully and it hurts like all hell every time i cough, laugh, or even roll on to it while I'm sleeping.
- last but not least, my stomach tends to make weird noises... i think its because it's empty.
I have a 1 week post op visit with my surgeon on Wednesday and i hope i remember to tell him all of this.

Oct 17, 2010
Im just seeing so many negatives in my life changing into positives after this surgery...
I guess my next hurdle is to be approved by the insurance.
Can any one tell me what happens when i first meet my surgeon? Should i have a list of questions? Should he provide me with information on past surgeries he has done? Can any one help me and let me know what should i have prepared for THURSDAY?
