2 1/2 Weeks Post-op - July 17, 2007

Jul 17, 2007

Well it seems to take forever when you are waiting for something, and once it's come and gone time just flies by.  It's already 2 1/2 weeks since my surgery.  Everything is going well.  Just the few bumps and kinks to work out that everyone goes through.  I have lost 18 1/2 lbs. and am able to wear clothes that I haven't worn in a while.  It feels good.  I know that my weight loss will slow down now that I am getting into the food part of the diet, but I am okay with that.  I look forward to this time next year when I can go to the beach and not feel so self-consious about myself.

It's done!
June 28th - I flew to Edmonton and waited at the airport.
June 29th - I flew from Edmonton to Phoenix and Phoenix to Puerto Vallarta.  I arrived at 3:15 pm local time and was whipped through the city by taxi to the hospital.   Once there I met with the Human Resource woman and went through all the paper work.  By 4 pm I was in my room for all the pre-op tests.  At 630 I was being taken down to the operating room and by 730 I was back in my room.
June 30th - I had a shower and was allowed ice chips, apple juice and water.  I had a lot of gas pain and they told me to walk.  At 1pm I was discharged and talken to the hotel.
July 1st - I checked out of the hotel at noon and waited in the lobby until it was time to head for the airport.  At 5:00 pm I was on my way to Phoenix.  The 7:30 flight was cancelled at 10:30pm and it looked like I was stuck.  But after being told by one customer service rep that the next flight home would not be for two days and if I wanted to change my flight plans it would cost $100 plus the difference in the tickets, I talked to another rep that made arrangement for me.  Thank you Jackie at US Airlines!
July 2nd - I spent the night at the Phoenix Airport and got in line at 3:00am for my 5:40 flight to LA then to Vancouver.  I finally arrived home in Dawson Creek at 8:30pm.  Home Sweet Home.

12 Days to Go

June 17, 2007
Only 12 days to go.  I wish the day was here already, but I know the time will pass by quickly.
I'm excited to be starting a new part of my life in which my life will be about my life and not about my weight.  If I look at any picture of myself I can tell you exactly how much I weighed.  My weight has consumed most of my adult life and recently my thoughts.  I'm looking forward in receiving this tool to help me get passed that feeling.
