Week 10

Jan 11, 2013

This is my 10th week after having surgery. As of this morning I am 170.5. A 1/2 pound from reaching 50 pounds total! I'm hoping over the weekend I will reach this goal! Since surgery I have lost 26.5 pounds, which I should be thrilled about, and I am happy, but not thrilled. I think it's because I've been trying to compare myself to other people around my starting height and weight, and I know I shouldn't...

Last week I didn't lose a pound. I know I'm partially responsible for it because I had been slacking in the exercise department the previous couple weeks. However, I did take my measurements and I was down 1 inch in my bust, 2 in my waist and 2 in my hips! I have since then kicked my butt back into workout gear!!

I think I will be going shopping in my closet this weekend kiss

Down... Down I go!!

Dec 16, 2012

I'm officially down 21 pounds since surgery in just shy of 7 weeks! I am very excited to be on this journey and have these results. I've been walking at least 5 times a week for 30 minutes. I will be heading back to swimming hopefully in the next couple weeks.

1 month later....

Dec 01, 2012

I got up this morning and put on a pair of jeans- my only REAL pair of jeans-  that even a month ago were tight on me. After buttoning them I noticed the waist I could pull out and there was a TON of room in them. I was just making a quick trip to the post office so I wasn't too concerned. When I returned home and walked inside my pants immediately fell to the floor... I decided that with that it was time to retire the jeans...

So in my first month I am happy to report I am down 15 pounds. At first I was kinda upset thinking that it wasn't really that much, but then I began to think  that it wasn't so bad... I did start at 197 surgery day.  I'm excited to see what next month brings

New Love!

Nov 07, 2012

It's no secret I've been having trouble getting fluids in, let alone protein. I had enough energy this morning to get out the blender. I wanted to try a recipe I had found on eggface's site. Butterscotch shake. Let me tell you.... YUM!!! I accidentally added a little to much butterscotch pudding powder so it thickened up a bit, but its like thinned pudding. Plus I can always add more milk to it... Another perk is that the scoop of vanilla whey protein I had has 26 grams per scoop, and because I use milk, there is 8 grams of protein. So for 8 oz I'm gonna get 34 grams.... Now the hard part is getting it in.... But the 3-4 oz I had a little while seemed to be ok... Hey! It's a start!!

Rough time

Nov 05, 2012

So..on a positive note: my drain will be coming out this afternoon. The nurse said it was just shy of a week but she didn't see any reason why it couldn't come out when I'm draining less than 30cc a day and especially since its hurting me and affecting my sleep.

Today I started full liquids- well it's been just a pain. I tried a couple ounces of my favorite and it tasted like blah.... Later I tried a few more sips and my tummy yelled. So I thought ok, it didn't want that. I tried a different flavor. Tasted blah! So then I settled on a taste of tomato soup and added protein powder to it...  It was a no go.... So then finally I made some sf pudding- with 1% milk and added protein powder- it was ok- not great tho.... I don't know what to do... Nothing tastes good to me!

Stupid Drain!

Nov 04, 2012

I swear the only pain I'm in is from this JP drain! My appointment to get it removed is on Wednesday but I think I'm going to call tomorrow to see if they can take it out earlier. It pulls at my stomach. The nurse at the hospital said that when my drainage got below 30cc a day I could have it taken ok. I'm draining around 20cc a day now so there is really no reason why they could.

Also I'm so excited I start full liquids tomorrow!!

Sleeved and Home!!

Nov 01, 2012

I am home and sleeved! I had a relatively smooth experience except when they were try ing to get the IV in me. I'm a red-head- enough said!   By 7pm I was in a room and was so happily it was just me in there. I was fortunate enough not to have a roommate. Around 10:30pm the nurse came and asked if I wanted  to go for a walk. It wasn't too bad.   So I walked and walked and my nurse and doc agreed that I was good to go!

Day 8 of pre-op diet

Oct 27, 2012

The past week has been pretty rough. I was okay until Tuesday when I did a late shift and then had to be in for an early shift the next morning. Since then I've been tired, bitchy and HUNGRY! The first few days were manageable and I lost 4 lbs in 4 days. Then, I became constipated and haven't lost anything. I'm a little down about it, but I'm staying string!
