Big Hugs, {{{Terri}}}. I pray that you'll be guided to just the right surgeon who can convert your VGB to a RNY or whatever surgery is appropriate, and can take your insurance. Many others have done what you've done. My anniversary is this coming Saturday, 6/29. I'd be happy to put you in touch with my surgeon, if you don't mind a trip to Los Angeles.

Terri~I'm sorry to hear that you aren't doing well. Thanks for posting it so that others can see the good, bad and ugly of wls. My doctor just performed surgery on a lady that had the band. I think he converted her to the DS, but he does ALL of the surgeries. He's a well known lap surgeon. He's got people from all over coming to him. He's truly gifted. He is located in Va. You might want to give him a call. good luck to you!

Well, its been 2 years and I have not been doing well. I only lost 60lbs total at the max and now I am starting to gain some back so far 14lbs. So I have decided to have the complete by-pass since I orginal had the VBG. I also have had days were I can not eat anything then I have days where I can everything. I biggest problem I have right now is finding a doc who will do the revision surgery and who takes Cigna HMO. If anyone can help with information I would greatly apprericate it.

3-24-02 Well almost 2 years now, I have lost about 75lb I wish it was more. I am think about going in and having a revision done for the complete bypass. I think it is better I know several people who have had it and it work better than the VGB. don't get me wrong I am glad I had the surgery but I will be happier if I can lose more.
