Well, I am home now, I had my surgery in Juneau on the December 30th and am home in Kodiak now, today is the 4th of January. I flew home today and have so many questions and thoughts on my mind, so i'll appologize in advance for such a long posting.
Well, Surgery went well. Didn't have any major complications or anything. On Thursday the Dr. told me to hang around until Monday because it would make me feel better (I have major anxiety issues!) But he said that he would understand if i couldn't hold out that long, so Saturday (today) I decided to go ahead and fly home. I'm a little nervous to be so far away from my dr. or any dr. that does gastric bypass. I havn't taken my pain meds for a couple of days , but I'm starting to have some pain in my upper right abdomen. I hope it's not a hernia. Oh, he was able to do my surgery lap! He is able to do lap surgery on patients up to a bmi of 70. My neck hurts where the central IV was put in and infact still have a bit of a hard time with neck strength. I had surgery on Monday and weighed in on Friday and had lost 16 pounds...I was completely shocked! When I was in the hospital after the first couple of days i was feeling regretful, but like everyone sais, it gets better. I can't wait for it to get even more better ;-) Ok, i know that i am just a little paranoid, but i have to ask...I am 5 days post op...does this mean i'm pretty much in the clear for major complications?
Well, thanks everyone for listening, and thank you also for all your words of encouragement it has really helped me!
Thank you
Amber
