Congrats on your date, Amanda! Yeah!!! I am thrilled for you! I pray that the time flies by at just the right speed - enough time to get prepared but not enough time to stress! I pray that your surgery is uneventful and that your recovery is amazingly speedy. In no time at all you will feel like your NEW self! Many blessings to you,

Congratulations on your surgery date! I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. --- May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will have ups and downs. You can always turn to us, your AMOS family, we will give support, comfort and encouragement. You will find this will be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that was true for me. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly. We all like to see how we are doing!!! Make sure you take pictures. It’s great to see the new you emerge!!! Not to mention the look on YOUR face when you look at those pictures and compare them in a few months! It’ll be a BIG WOW!!! Please remember too, that this is a *tool* to use. Make sure you use it wisely. The first year it’s pretty easy, after that I’ve been hearing (I’m not speaking from experience as I’m not a year out yet) that it gets increasingly difficult. Choose the right foods and measurements wisely! Good luck and God Bless!!! RNY 10/31/03 down 117 pounds– I’M AT GOAL!!! I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all.~*~Hugs~*~

Amanda - You have such wonderful positive energy. Keep it up! You will beat them and realize your dream. As for the white chair attack - I know it well!! You have a gift to be able to turn negatives into positives. I wish you all the best in your fight all the way to the top, if you have to. How do you same Supreme Court? !! Sandra

Amanda! I remember, oh, I so remember! I'm coming up on my year's anniversary from surgery, and just keep thinking "I can't believe what I CAN do now!". I just wanted to let you know it is so worth the fight. I had Cigna too, and would be happy to share my "letter" with you if you are interested. Just email me from my profile - but no pressure! Hang in there and get with that group! The support group I attend is phenomonal (sp!) - especially when I first went and found I wasn't the only one! Others were struggling and hurting and depressed and...and..and...you aren't alone. Chin up and fight on!

Amanda - I'm sorry that you are feeling so low. Believe me, I've been there. I think the support group will give you the "support" you need. Yes, the insurance companies are a pain in the neck. They give one word answers and nothing else to help you. As for the chair, I had the same problem, not be able to use beach chairs. I bought one of those collapsable chairs in a bag (w/ arms) at Walmart (~$12) and I fit in it and it is transportable. It is very stable and I don't feel like it is going to buckle under me. Good luck on your journey. Keep up the fight w/ your insurance company. It is worth it.
