Infamous Three Week Plateau

Three weeks post-op!  Whoo Hoo! I've lost 19 pounds since surgery and a total of 25 since November 3rd. I've lost two dress sizes

For the past week I have been dealing with unbelievable constipation and bloating.  Nothing I have tried has given me much relief.  I am so tired of drinking everything and just want something to chew.  I can move to Stage 3 of the eating plan on the December 20th; I've been on liquids since November 10th and this has gone past getting old.  Thankfully, my dietician has given me some great ideas for variety and that has helped but i cannot wait to chew something other than gum.

With the constipation comes a stall in my weight loss.  I learned in my support group last night this is called the "Infamous Three Week Plateau". So now I don't feel so bad.  It's not me.  It's the combination of the anesthesia and lack of calories/exercise that is causing this.  I am working hard today to increase my fluids and tonight when I work with my trainer, Audrey, she promises to move me to the next level.  So far the only thing I have been allowed to do is walk.
