I've had obesity issues all my life.  I had a BPD in 1997.  No pain whatsoever as the doctor used an epidural.  I started at 325.  I lost only 60 lbs in the first 6 mos, then nothing.

I was appalled that I had no restriction.  I begged the doctor for for a revision.  He really didn't want to do it, but finally agreed.

So one year later (1998)  I had a revision.  My surgeon did not want to do anything to my pouch, but he made me more distal .. maximum accepted by medical community is 100 in of
the common channel.

The revision got me down to 175, where I stayed for several years.  I then learned about a fiber supplement ... used the heck out of that & got down to 140-150 (goal) for several more years.   Joy joy, happy happy joy joy!  All this, despite no restriction.

In 2003 I started having problems with widespread muscle pain, food allergies, I learned
I had a thyroid problem,
auto immune problems, hypoglycemia.   First we started treating symptoms for severe pain (medications).  I found that thyroid problems are SO under diagnosed!

Unwilling to accept the normal diagnosis of fibromyalgia,  & chronic fatigue, I studied,
talked with others in the know
& found how to fix what was wrong!  So now, I no
longer have any pain! No more medication! ... despite the diagnosis of Rheumatoid
Arthritis.  No longer have hypoglycemia!  And no more chonic fatigue!  I still have some autoimmune issues... but I think I have a chance of fixing that too!.  If you have Fibro/CFS, please know that mainstream docs do not know how to fix this.  However, there are some specialists who DO know
about fixing this. The information to fix this IS out there.

Something broke though & I started getting really hungry, craving sweets, unable to lose weight.  I found a way to minimize sugar carb cravings.  But still had issues with volume control.   My regain reached 215.

In 2007 I found out about the StomaphyX & an pursuing this as a means to fix my pouch.

If you are still reading, I just want to say that no one understand more than I about
how awful these weight issues are.  Others judge us on our appearance ... and it affects
everything.  It can cause a lot of hurt and the scars can be permanent.  I congratulate
everyone here for having the courage to get help.  Life CAN get better!  I wish everyone better years to come!  We have been through much hardship & we ARE beautiful
despite whatever scars we carry.
