They called! My appt. is set for the 26th...surprised it is only next week! Going to keep researching and praying! All of these before and after photos are truly inspiring. I want to be an after!!
GB Seminar

Dr. Rowitz seems really nice, as does the nurse. He gave a really nice presentation, and gave his own stats for complications. Still scary, but I'm more convinced that this is the route I need to go. I filled out the preliminary paperwork and they will call me for an appt.!

Very disappointed. Got the obesity policy from my insurance, and I have to lose 40lbs to qualify for the Lapband. I wish Dr. P's office would have made a point of telling me so I didn't go through the consult and all for nothing!
Consultation

Had my consult with Dr. Paluzzi today. All seemed to go well. I've done my research, so no big questions for him. He thinks I am a great candidate for the surgery, and he liked my idea of writing my own letter to the insurance to go along with his and my PCP's. I now have to wait for the Psych office and Nutritionist office to call with my appointments. THEN we get to send it off to the insurance! :)
A layoff looms

We found out a few days ago that my hubby's plant is closing. :( We have a few months until we will be forced to pay for COBRA, so we need to hurry things along! PLEASE Lord, don't let the insurance people cause problems!! I called Dr. P's office and they moved my consultation up to April 6th.
A referral!

Went to see my PCP for a referral, and he was so GREAT! Made me feel like I was making the right decision, and he told me that he trusts my surgeon 100%. He said Dr. Paluzzi was a man of integrity, and he would trust him with his and his wife's lives. That made me feel really good about my decision, and my decision to have faith in Dr. Paluzzi. :) BUT, Dr. Paluzzi decided to go on vacation (why now?? lol) ....the nerve of some people. ;) So my first appt. with Dr. P is on April 13th. WOW, that seems like an eternity away.
I also went to give Dr. Paluzzi's office my paperwork. They didn't like the answer my insurance gave for whether or not they cover the LB. Sooo, I called them back. I got a more knowledgable person this time, which was great! They do cover the procedure, providing the dr. can provide medical necessity. She also gave me a list of requirements needed for approval. So I'm praying all goes well!!

Went to see the gastroent. Man, that guy has ADD or something! Very distracted, and didn't finish a lot of his sentences. It was a little weird! lol He is ordering a few more tests, and if all comes out okay, then I have what I, myself, have suspected all along....I just have a fat liver. lol
Blood work issues?

Heard back from my PCP about recent testing. My blood work shows slightly raised blood sugar, and my ultrasound revealed an enlarged liver. I am referred to a gastroenterologist for my liver on Monday, and see my PCP on Tuesday to review my blood work and HOPEFULLY get my referral for the lap band! Nervewracking...the whole lot of it. :oP I am just praying that this is God laying down the pathway to approval from my insurance.
