Monday is your day! Just remember you are on the journey of a lifetime. Try to enjoy every minute. It may sound weird now, but know that you are cared for and prayed for here, and all too soon this will be but a memory and you will be an inspiration to someone else. I am waiting for you on the losers' bench!

Hello, hello, hello Anna! Boy, I read your blog and I can't tell you how I can relate to you. I think you will be happy to hear my story! I just returned from Piedras Negras, Mexico...Dr. Guillermo Alvarez just completed a VSG on me and I can't tell you how happy I am and how GREAT I feel. I had my surgery on June 29, 07, so today is my 15th day post-op. I am 5'2" tall and the day of my surgery I weighed in at 234.4. Today my weight is 217 and I'm feeling way better than a million bucks. I'm not going to lie to you Anna...the first day and even part of the second day post-op was not that much fun, but certainly not at all as bad as I had anticipated. I have never even so much as had a broken fingernail, let alone surgery and anesthesia!! Oh my, all that was big time for me, but it was a snap...literally a snap!! Dr. Alvarez is SO WONDERFUL, you are going to LOVE him. Who is your coordinator? The entire experience was great and you could NOT be in better hands than in the hands of Dr. Alvarez and Dr. Rodriguez (his surgical right hand man). They are more experienced at this surgery than any other surgeons in the WORLD and you will just love them. They are two men that OBVIOUSLY LOVE THEIR WORK!! I'm so excited for you Anna, you are soon to start your journey to a new you. I'm more happy than I have ever been. I too have struggled with obesity for about 7 years and before that, I never weighed over 110 pounds so I was MORE than ready to do something. I wish you all the luck in the world. Speaking of life being too short not to live by an ocean and palm trees...I moved to Denver, North Carolina 1.5 years ago from San Diego, California. San Diego is my home, but I'm here in NC for real estate opportunities. Maybe we will both retire in San Diego some day and become great friends...imagine that!! Best of luck to you Anna...my thoughts and prayers are with you. Andrea
