I'm a 30-something Type-I Diabetic who has been overweight my entire adult life. I was average weight when i graduated high school (about 140) and started to gain weight when i turned 20 and moved away to college. I had one successful attempt at Weight Watchers in 1998 when i lost 50 lbs. It took me 5 years to gain it + some back. I've tried everything from South Beach to Symlin shots and just can't seem to keep anything off. I have one son who is now 3 and i hate that i miss out on so much in his life. I know this surgery will give me my life back and will allow me to participate in my sons' life. I'm considering the DS and the VSG and i'm not sure which will work best for me. I've heard nothing but wonderful things about Dr. Bonanni and can't wait to meet him and get this underway. I can't wait to get my life back....and have the energy to live, not loaf!
