Not sure why it took me so long to have my surgery but after two years of checking doctors and hospitals. Educating myself on all the procedures, attending meetings and talking to others people who had surgery I made up my mind that 2010 was the year to begin my voyage.
On 10/1/10 I had my REALIZE Lap-Band Surgery at Hackensack Medical Center in New Jersey. Surgery went very well, stayed over night and then on my way home. The first week was a nightmare, I was telling myself I made a huge mistake, what was wrong with me that I couldn't do this myself. But by the second week I was beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I already started to feel like a different person, determined to enjoy this new lifesyle.
