David E. Bruce

"I visited Dayton Bariatrics last year in the hopes of having surgery and met with Dr. Siddiqui in the hopes of having surgery. He seemed like a competent surgeon, and he seemed like he was well trained. However, my hopes of having surgery in 2006 were quickly dashed after learning that my insurance company is difficult to deal with and require a 12-month medically supervised diet.rnrnI fell off the wagon during month 9, but really, I stopped my doctor visits because my husband had found a new job with insurance that was more inclined to approve this surgery. My husband's company changed insurance in 2007 but it's still easier than BCBS of IL, and I started the process over again. Dr. Siddiqui is no longer with Dayton Bariatrics so I met with Dr. Bruce. He also gave the informational presentation that I attended last month. rnrnMy first impression on meeting Dr. Bruce is that he seemed very nice and was thorough. I also liked that he had a personality and wasn't all business. He made several jokes upon entering the room, and he put me very much at ease. He also did not appear to have a surgeon's ego, which I ran into with the surgeon who removed my tonsils several years ago. He asked me about my medical and weight loss history and performed a cursory examination. He and Dr. Clarey have been doing these procedures for a long time, and I feel confident that they are very good at what they do."
