I was born with congenital hypothyroidism (as in NO thyroid gland at ALL) - my weight did not become an issue until after my hysterectomy in 1996; slowly the weight started piling on and despite many diets, I could not lose more than 5# so I looked into surgery and was happy to find DR Simpson! After being denied twice by Cigna, I hired attorney Gary Viscio in NY and 2 weeks after receiving his letter, Cigna reversed their decision and my surgery was scheduled for 1/4/06 - Dr Simpson's 1st surgery of the new year! lol.. Doc & I were game to do the surgery Xmas Day but for some reason, the assisting Drs & the hospital didn't like that idea ! LOL
My weight loss has been slower than I had hoped and planned with a few setbacks along the way but I will get there! STILL .. 50# is gone forever and the last 35-40 will come as well...
