I started the process to have gastric bypass in April of 2009.  I really honestly didn't think I would ever reach the point of being approved for surgery!  Over the past few months it seems like there has always been...oh well you missed this step or you need to do this yet.  But, I went in for my final appt with Dr. Monk last Monday and they said they'd be submitting everything to the insurance.  I got my approval the follow ing Thursday (which was yesterday!).  I'm set to have my surgery on Nov. 12.  It seems soooo soon!  I start the pre op diet on Nov 1st.  I think i'm more nervous about that then the actual surgery.  i'll update though on how that goes!  I'm still kind of funny about who've i've told.  Just my immediately family (husband and parents) and a few close friends.  Eventually i'll have to tell more...but, so far everyone hasn't been as optimistic as me about the surgery so, i'm a little hesitant.  But, I'm super excited and so's my husband so that's all that matters!!!
