I survived my scope. It was actually with one of the surgical team members I met the day l found out my surgery date.
I also met a few new friends. One is on OH and the other on I will communicate with on FB! Im so excited to get the relationships going and give each other support.

Well it's been 4 days in on the Optifast and I'm really get used to it. Since it is the only real thing I eat, I am now looking forward to it actually
I am going today for my stomach scope. I am soooooo nervous. I just can't seem to budge from this feeling and its really playing on my head. I hope all goes well today, I am more concerned over this stupid scope than my actual surgery; isn't that crazy?
I received a call from the surgeon's secretary stating my pre-op is March 10th and to expect to be there for 2-3 hours. She further stated my surgery date was still confirmed. That was exciting to get! I am really looking forward to this life change and am very grateful for all the support and encouraging thoughts from my fellow co-workers, friends and most of all family.  I know God is definetely watching over me and that this is the right time to do this.

I'm having such a hard time with the optifast. Why is it soooooo thick??? But it's the first day in, so l am not giving up!!!
Any suggestions?

Well I was not expecting to hear this at all.... Before I went on vacation, l met with the medicine internist. I was given my prescription for Vitamin D. She told me l was an excellent candidate for the surgery as l didn't have any major health issues.
The following day l received a call asking to meet with the surgeon that week. I was disappointed as l couldn't make the appointment as l was leaving the day before for Jamaica. When l returned, l called to see if there was another appointment that l could have, and the clerk had told me l was actually scheduled in that day to meet the surgical team, and if all goes well l could attend class!
So l went in and met one of the surgeon assistants and attended class. Before class started, l was told by the clerk to go up to the surgeon's office and get my surgery date. I was like "what?" couldn't believe it at first, had to ask the girl sitting beside me if l had heard correctly. Sure enough, l was given my date; MARCH 17, 2010 @11:30 AM!!!
I just have to complete one more test - endoscopy coming up Friday.
So now l am on Optifast - 4x /day and on clear fluids until surgery. It is all worth it though!
