My story...were should I start. I guess you could say I've always been considered the fat one. I was fatter than all my friends and all of my family members. I was an active child but that didn't seem to make a difference. My weight never stopped me from doing anything my friends did..cheerleading, bike riding, dating. That however changed when I got older. A couple years ago I used the birth control depo-provera and everything changed. I started to show all the symptoms of PCOS (polysistic ovarian syndrome) after coming off it after 3 shots. Everything was changing...I no longer got my menstral cycle regularly, i started having hair growth in areas that females shouldn't and of course I gained alot of weight. At the time I didn't know what was going on. I had doctors tell me for years that I just needed to lose weight and I would get my period back...well that was not my problem. Finally after years of working out and dieting a doctor actually looked at everything and did something about it.  I started to take Metformin. It didn't work. I still haven't been able to regulate my cycle, get pregnant, lose weight or get rid of the hair problem. After getting married and moving to germany a military doctor finally decided that WLS is the best thing for me. He is very optimistic about the outcome. My goals are to finally be a mom and have my life back. I want to be able to not only have a child of my own but to be able to raise that child without anything holding me back. I can't wait.
