Have you ever seen the movie: THE WIZARD OF OZ??? Well, soon you will be saying what the wicked witch said when Dorothy threw a bucket of water on her: "I'M MELTING!! I'M MELTING!!!" Those lbs will just melt off of you soon. You will soon be walking down the YELLOW BRICK ROAD to see the WIZARD OF OZ and your sweetest wish will be granted. Congratulations and good luck to you. My husband and I both had our open rny's at Pacific Bariatric in San Diego in 2001 and have lost a combined total of 325 lbs. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dear Carmen....I am so excitied for you! I know how much this surgery means to you..just remember it is "normal" to have mixed feelings before it. Hi, Carmen. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. I know how jittery one can get during the short-term pre-op days. I had my surgery last week, Oct.29th.The one thing that I found that helped me get through the "doubts" and anxiety was this website. Especially the photo gallery and the message board. Actually, I'm here tonight to get my mind off of only having clear liquids for another week--YUCK! I just keep thinking about getting to that place we want to be...Normal size and Healthy!

Carmen, You can do this hon! We all have our, "I am woman, hear me roar" moments. And also our, "Good Lord, what am I doing?" moments. Take a deep breath and calm yourself. Say a prayer and let all your anxiety go, like exhailing bad air. Then visualize yourself as thinner, full of energy, doing something you love to do......all your excess weight is gone and you feel light as a feather and so, so happy. This works very well if you're soaking in the tub with a candle lit. I am planning on doing this every night b4 bed so I can relax and sleep, since sleep is a HUGE issue right now. Only 18 more days to go for me! Best of luck to you and I will be saying a prayer for you and your surgeon! You're going to love your new life!!!!!! BIG HUG! Carol Percel

"It matters not how straight the gait, How charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate, I am the Captain of my Soul." W.E. Henley Carmen, this little poem applies to all of us. We are taking control of our lives and our destiny to make this happen for us. You KNOW you're in my thoughts and prayers and I'm as excited as you about your Nov. 20th date. Now, just let it happen. Be in the moment. Experience every little change. AND DON'T be anxious (haha, easy for me to say). Your time is near.
